Just got an offer from the dealership that I bought my first gen PiP from. I have 14 payments left on my current PiP. If I traded in my PiP, they would give me the prime for about $22,000 (60 months at 0%). That may change though once they see how many miles I have on my PiP. Not planning on taking them up on it, but just thought I would let everyone know as it may help people determine their best strategy when buying a Prime.

What prime model did the dealer offer you, Plus, Premium, Advanced?

It means they don't know too much about the Prime!

I think the dealership that provided you preliminary quote of 22000 with your vehicle trade in and finance is either lacking intelligence or too intelligent. Lack intelligence in trying to make price with very unacceptable vehicle trade in and some discount or ridiculous vehicle trade in and no discount. Too intelligent in trying to intent to gauge your intelligence and interest.

my pip is worth about 10k on a trade. prime advanced around here is netting 29k. that would be 19k less 6k in tax credits, plus taxes and registration. not too shabby. idk if the woulf throw in 0%/60 months though.

The Three is a standard Prius, not the Prime. The Three is the middle of seven trim lines.

Make sure it is a "trade-in." Otherwise, you may end up with a hefty over mileage fee from the Toyota Financing months later.

It's not a lease. I own the vehicle.

And it's definitely a Prime, not a regular Prius.

It's all moot anyway since I have quite a few good years on my PiP left.

It's funny, little things tip me. Like rims for instance: as far as I'm concerned this is not progress:

my local dealer doesn't even list the prime package. i just go by price. i've seen dealers list them a one, two and three, or plus, premium and three, or one, premium and advanced. it's all over the place, and when you go in, they have no clue.

One must read what it says on the window sticker. Knowing the correct packages makes you much smarter than the sales person.
