In 10 months of owning my Gen 4, it's never shown all the bars on the battery, always having one bar missing no matter how much regen takes place.

For some reason this morning, I noticed the HUD battery showing all the bars full and stopped to take a picture of the dash.

I was giving some beans in pwr mode before I noticed.

A few times a week but this never happened before even with giving beans. I wonder what made it do this?

    Nice!

In my neighborhood there is a half mile fairly steep downhill with a traffic light at the bottom that often requires a lot of braking. Every once in awhile when the battery is pretty full when I head down the hill, I get full battery after breaking at the bottom - that is the only scenario I've seen it - definitely a rare situation.

Down in Cornwall it is not unusual to get a full charge indication because there are so many hills to negotiate. After 6 months of driving my first and only Prius I've stopped pussyfooting so much and even if it's no sports car, I'm immensely impressed. That probably means my driving standard is deteriorating and I'm turning into a born again boy racer! Can't say the same for my front seat passenger, but I'm really enjoying it and as for mpg well, I never pay too much attention. My best guess is I'm still in the high 60s, though I seldom use power mode, mainly normal or eco. :):):):)

You do know that any gauge can be designed to show anything that the Engineers want it to show......right ??
And that even when all the bars are lit up the battery still only has about an 85% charge ??

As per my research 85% charge stage (full battery) is not beneficial from the long term battery performance point of view.
It is OK to have full SOC in the middle of the commute, but I usually force to have 50-60% charge at destination point before parking
