    Dear fellows,

Last year my red beloved got very noisy, so I first thought a tire got out of balance. The noise did become more persistant and some time later it appeared that 3 of the 4 wheel bearings had to be changed between 100-150th miles.
Has anybody heared about this strange case?

    thanks a lot,

    Geert

I have a Prius 2006 and it seems that the front bearings might be going. Likewise, the car has low milage such as 76km or slightly over 30,000 miles. I am a bit surprised of this because I thought wheel bearings should last much longer. Thus, how long can one drive on a bad bearing? Shouldn't this be a recall issue? Are there unsealed bearing that can be used and lengthen the life? Thanks in advance

I had to change the right rear wheel bearing on my 2010 at 75k miles. Prius seem to have poor wheel bearings. I have a 2001 Honda Accord with 286,000 miles with the original wheel bearings.

Replaced a right rear on my 2010 with 55,000 miles. Never heard of a car needing wheel bearings like the Prius.

Should have mentioned, I got an alignment done and the right rear was toed out. That may have caused the problem. I installed the new hub and put a shim kit in to correct alignment.
