    Thanks Brisco.. noobe in hybrid/plugins..
Friends and wifey pushed me for Beemer/benz etc.. but I have opted for a good commuter car..
I have considered Lexus CT200H deeply but this PiP deal materialized before another CT200H deal in the line.

This one will be a good one too:).

@Rebound will be doing an intake manifold removal and cleaning along with egr cooler replacement. There will be others there with some maintenance items, but that will be the main job.

Should be fun. I know I had a good time at the last one(y).

Welcome! And congrats on a great buy. At 28k miles, it's barely broken in. I'd be shocked if a Prius needed new brakes before 100k miles. And that's pretty early for new tires unless the PO just didn't like the originals and had money to burn.

I hope you like your PiP as much as I like mine.

    Thanks Jerry.
I bought it off Toyota lease return. So, the services are pretty much managed by Toyota Dealer only during the lease time, its up to date.
I should say that "Brakes and Tires are like new, tread is really like a new tire" This is what my understanding triggered me to say "Tires and brakes are new".
    Liking Prius ??
I have started with dislike many years back:
    1) its hatch back shape. It is getting worse lately with that tail getting waves(in prius prime latest) ..
    2) I didnt like the Elephant trunk(the center poking console off the dash towards the arm-rest).
But why did I choose this?
    1) Trust on Toyota's reliability
    2) I am primarily looking for a commuter car. I find this is the best car for So-Cal daily commute time traffic.
    3) Big enough to depend on regular to moderate family rides...(I got a Honda Ody.. stand by for a bigger needs)..
After purchasing, I liked its Blizzard perl white color, nice looks.. calm noise inside, playing with its hybrid system around etc..)
Also I am a big fan of HD radio and play stuff off USB, I got these two in place..
I didnt like its small Multi media display console.
I am not sure why this car needs THREE separate displays (in fact five ) 1) on Dash left side(with gas in the tank and MPEG 2)on Dash right side the HV/EV real time animation, 3) on Dash overlay display of the steering wheel controls when used..4) Multi media console at the middle(elephant head), 5) Temperature display LED screen.
Why not all of these can be consolidated into one nice screen OR let the user to add an ipad for display :)

Damn, sorry to hear that guys.
I just picked up a Certified 2014 Plug in advance for 18k w 32k on it but added all the extra Warranty(which I wasn't sure if it was a good idea).
I'm pretty pleased with it though, I wouldn't worry to much unless you're planning on selling it down the road.
Things will last a long time when maintained.
Finding a Advance mode was hard to find.
All places kept saying advance but when I looked at it, it was the base model.
After 8 cars, was able to locate a Advance model.

Same here.. was not able to CLEARLY differentiate the Base Vs Advanced since few base models came with leather seating etc.. but at the end, I have picked up a 28K miles base 2013 pip for $14K recently..

I found that most of the true Advanced models had fog lights and the Base ones did not.

My understanding is that the '12 and '13 Advanced were very loaded (including price), and much was dropped (including price) with the '14 and '15.

Yes! after researching, I feel I didn't do a good job because they're some features I would like on the 12-13 compared to the 14-15 versions. :( they really stripped them down and made it an option instead of including them.

There's a short list that the advance has compared to base but the easiest is the 7.1 screen and HDD

Right, '12 and '13 Advanced also have headlight washers, heads-up display, radar cruise control, leather-wanna-be seats, electric-operated drivers seat controls.
