Looking for any good information. Our 2011 Prius FIVE will be 4 years old in January and already has 121k on it -- We use if for my business and as an extra car for the clan the other times. I'm not getting rid of the 11 -- moving it down the pecking order so the high use drops off. I bought it with the 5 year 0%

My initial thought was to just get another Prius using the free money for 5 years. I can actually get a new one for less then I paid in 2012. I would get another Five, not V. for around 28K -- I like the larger tires and the LED headlights on the Five, not V. ... and don't want the sunroof.

I stopped into the Lexus dealer to look at the hybrid CT -- it's a bit more money .. nicer car. Looks a bit shorter but the front seat area is about the same ... the roof line is lower in the back so the hatch area is smaller.

The Prius has been great -- one set of tires at 90k and oil/ filter changes. The car looks like the day I bought it ... I'm torn. I also looked at the Accord Hybrid but I'm not convinced that it will be as trouble free as the Toyota. I'm thinking the Lexus will have equal reliability -- still getting very good gas milage and have a decent resale.

the lexus gets great reviews. iirc, the only downsides are size and mpg's.

Bisco hit it on the head. The only other thing I might suggest is either the Camry Hybrid, or the Avalon Hybrid, you don't get the Lexus name, but you would get great mileage on both cars and the prices might surprise you ( when compared to the Lexus)

Seats in the CT are sooo comfortable, especially compared to Prius. Slightly better ride comfort, too.

    CT has better handling too.

OR you could wait for the 2016 and get similar handling (maybe? we'll see when the test drives & reviews come out) as the CT200h and keep the space of a Prius. Of course you won't get the L badge and the nice things that come with it (apparently)

I picked up the new CT yesterday ... they gave me a deal that I could not pass up - 4.5k off. It's the base model --- the only options being heated power seats and the dimming mirror/ backup camera (few other little things like the cargo mat) -- they had five black ones all the same. Black exterior with black/tan interior. The other couple they had in stock all had navigation and a other items that added 6-7k to the price .. some almost 40k. I was able to get it for not much more then the Prius five was going to cost.

It's very quiet -- higher quality interior -- seats are so much better. Nicer steering wheel. I actually like the Prius dash display better -- but I don't miss the Prius Nav screen or the Nav display interface. CT will hold less stuff in the back -- car is shorter with a lower roof line in the back. The dog will not mind.

Hard to get excited about the CT when the CAMRY and especially the AVALON Hybrids are both getting 39MPG

Its all good on the Hybrid side for Toyota !

Kind of makes you wonder what will happen with the CT now that the Prius has hit 4th generation and the Plug-in Prius is going to a 2nd generation. The CT sorely needed some more oomph so I'm wondering if they are going to adopt the Prime technologies that include the dual motors. By the time Lexus decides to update the CT it'll be slammed on two fronts, Toyota's own Prius including Prius Prime and Tesla's upcoming Model 3.

Correction, it already is being slammed. Off 50% for sales during April and down 25% year on year. Not sure how the Gen 4 Prius stacks up but it can't be much quieter than the Gen 4 or offer a sportier ride since the Gen 4 now has better ride. It would be interesting to have someone test drive both cars and compare.

And the 2017 Lexus CT200h is...........exactly the same as the 2016. No new platform, no new technology, exactly the same as the 2016.

Hey guys, my first post here on the Lexus side. I bought a Prius Prime Advanced last month MSRP $34k it's been a blast.

Lots of Prime owners have been averaging 30+ miles on electric then it just turn into a regular Prius for another 600 miles range on gas.

2017 CT200h MSRP is about $32k. For 2018 or possible 2019 they have to keep the price under $35k to compete with Tesla Model 3.

Doesn't make sense when a $20k Corolla has standard Toyota Safety Sense and a $35k CT200h adds $3k option to get adaptive cruise control and emergency braking.

My Prime MSRP $34k - $2k Toyota rebate - $4,500 fed credit - $5k Colorado tax credit. It will come out to be around $22,500 deal of a life time.

And if the 2019 CT200h has all the safety features of the Prime at $35k I'll have Prime and CT200h side by side in my garage.

    Cheers!

    The CT200h has been discontinued.

Not sure if they'll ever re-invent it based on Gen4 or Prime?

Yeah the CT200h is going away (probably the last year is 2017?)

It'll be replaced by a sub-compact SUV (do not know if it'll be based on the CH-R, which in turn is based on the Prius). Rumoured to get the UX moniker but nothing has been announced.

Basically expect a "young", "hip" version of the NX (or a fancier version of the CH-R).

This is last year's CONCEPT CAR - which may or may not have any relevance to the discussion. It looks vaguely like the CH-R (even uglier?) - which I didn't bother to drive it as I'd never consider putting grandchildren in the back seat with almost no outward visibility.

Yeah that's the concept one. It's the only photo (of recent) that we have.

Well it's meant for young, single or couple professionals without kids (or I guess young-at-heart empty nesters). I don't think it's meant to be a family vehicle (there's the RAV4 for that)
