Recently my headlights stopped going off after I parked and locked the car. Its not a case of me turning the headlights on and off after parking it, or me doing anything differently then usual. My headlights have always stayed in the on position, and when parked, they turn off automatically.

A few months ago I put in a new door lock actuator in the driver side door, but the lights still went off automatically like normal after that. This all started about 3-4 days ago.

I've tried many times now starting the car, turning the lights off and back on, then turning it off, and locking the doors but to no avail. The lights stay on no matter what. I'm having to manually turn the lights off now..

If anyone knows what's going on, please help.

Ask the dealer to check the settings in Techstream, if the setting has changed they can change it back.

Also, how old is your 12v auxiliary battery? Things can get weird when your auxiliary battery voltage gets low.

I just replaced the 12v in the trunk about a year ago. But I need to have an oil change soon so when I'm at the dealership i'll certainly ask them to check the settings!

The auto-off settings might be user customizable. It depends on your model of car. There is no "Never Off" setting. Do the lights stay on indefinitely? You can program delays for: zero, 60, and 90 seconds. It sounds like you had it at zero and it somehow got changed. Check the owners manual under "Customization".

Checked the manual, just some basic information. Nothing that really helps.

Mine is on page 593, shown as "Automatic light control system". You need to have either a Display Audio or Navigation system.
