Hello fellow prius peeps, I am looking to replace my sound system in my Prius 2010 without the JBL sound system.

The front components I am installing will be the JBL Club 9600C 6"x 9" Component System. This component is a true component with an individual tweeter.

My question is on the tweeter installation. Is there a company that makes a bracket I can purchase for the tweeter to install into the dashboard factory speaker location? I am not looking to custom fab something. Thanks for any input!

Crutch field has installation instructions. On mobile or I'd get a photo of it.

Trust me it's on their website under installation guides.

I have seen it however it says you have to custom the bracket. I'm assuming no one has done it then?

There's a sticky thread here showing the dash speaker replacement. There isn't much room up there. The plastic is very soft and it's easy to punch a hole for SMALL replacement tweeters (I've done that), but space is very limited and tight. I snapped some pics when I installed mine; these should give you an idea of what's possible. If your separate tweeter is the size of the speaker I've added, it'll fit. But a door panel install is easier.

In the rear doors, there's already a cut out for component speakers, with separate tweeter. Firstly, it's good that you're installing a 6x9, it provides great bass. There are a few ways to install component tweeters but I would put them in the doors. They need very little clearance and I think you should just cut off the dash "squawkers" (leave them in the dash with no sound going to them) and put your tweeters in the doors.

A photo isn't needed; the finished install of that speaker looks 100% stock.

If you look through the grill, you can see that the speaker looks a little different, of course, but it still looks stock.

Also, I had to remove some material from the stock grill to make the grill fit. I hated this install and I think it's more sensible to cut off these dash squeakers and install speakers in the doors. The ideal ones would be component 6x9 speakers. You can install a 6x9 or a 6" round in the front door and I think the 6x9 is definitely the way to go; there's much better bass with them. Mine are 2-way JBL's. Only problem with them is that their impedance is a little odd. They sound just fine but I might have trouble if I run an amp to these and the rear door speakers.

I put these in my car today and they fit right in and sound pretty good.

That's a 2 3/4" speaker and I was able to fit a 3 1/2" speaker in the dash with a little cutting but no externally-visible appearance change. I don't think you can easily get more than 3 1/2" in that opening.

I just installed a pair of Kicker (2way) 3.5" today. Next week I will clean up the trimming and install a 800hz filter.
Next week also installing upfront Kicker 6x9 Comp set (Minus the tweeter), 6.5 (2way) in rear, taking the tweeter from the comp set and moving the highs to factory location (if I had JBL).

Dash speakers will be powered off HU, door speaker 45w rms ea.

I installed a set of Alpine 6 1/2 components. I used the old speaker and ripped out the cone and put the Alpine tweeter into the body of the oem speaker

I used the factory replacements from Focal. They were amazing.
