I hope it is not the scammer from Owensville!
If it is, you should run. Run far away.

Scammers advertising battery "refurbishing" on CL are a dime a dozen. You cannot do a proper refurb for $500. FWIW.

On this note, I recently replied to one of those craigslist ads just to get some info.

The ad was $600 for a refurb battery, with yours as a turn in. After discussion with the ad owner:

It was guaranteed to have 3500 mah capacity. Each module was supposedly tested at 3500 mah or better, which means they probably all are around 3500 if you're lucky. At least they're matched, lol.
It had a 3 month warranty.
Better quality batteries were available for higher fees.
I feel sorry for the poor SOB that gets that one.
Now you know why some have a 3 month warranty.

Never did get an answer as to why 3500 mah was considered acceptable. Would you put that in your parents car? What about your teenager's car? Maybe in your worst enemies car?

I wouldn't put a POS like that in anyone's car .....ever. Even if I didn't like you. (If I didn't like you, I wouldn't even work on your car!)

Just an update- we decided to replace hybrid battery with a new system. Got a lot of help from eric Powers from EV PowersHybridbattery and repair out in Wisconsin. Learned a lot, paid a fair amount. Now car has a brand new battery, which should last more than another 100K. Thanks for all the advice.
