New Prius

    Finally picked my new Prius on 6/24. I am really impressed on the technology!!! Feels very GOOD. :D

    Congrats!! Just picked up mine yesterday, so know how you feel!! Welcome to the group...and it IS a great group. I've been lurking here for 6 months since I ordered the car & was really impressed with all of the comraderie and good info exchanged here.

    Congrats Sasuke and JoJo,

    I too love my car and the group. By the way, when you find yourself just wanting to go out and take a drive at any hour because the car is sooo cool and fun to drive...just do it! I bought mine early in February and I still take it out for a cruise now and then.

    Thanks, Gilahiker! I started thinking about buying this car since 1997 when Toyota started producing Prius in Japan. I took the test drive in 2001. Finally..., but I did not know until last week... I started thinking seriously about getting one when I found out about Hybrid car tax credit. :)

    Hi Rancid13, how did you get your best mileage as 48? I am trying to get 47 in town driving now. (This is my 5th day from the delivery...about 140 miles in total.) :D

    My average mileage is now 48.0, thanks to several 49 and 51 mpg tanks. Here's a link to the breakdown of my tank mileage:

    I do mostly city/suburban driving to and from work, and minimal freeway driving (except when traffic is going 20-40mph so I can maximize my mileage). I tend to try to stick to roads around town that have 35 or 40 mph speed limits so I can maximize driving on electric-only. On my first tank I got a little over 46 mpg so you're starting out pretty good so far! :)
