Really? I would consider over 100K miles on a Prius to be routine and even 200K miles to be just slightly above average.

Don't think you will see much difference with changing oil, ive just switched from 0w20 to 5w30 and cant tell the difference. Reason for my switch is as a taxi the engi e is nearly always hot and I think the extra protection of thicker oil is beneficial to me, and hopefully will see well above 300thousand miles

In GB you could even use 10W30 in winter. Even when cold starting. 0 weight oil is for -40C temps, NOT +100F areas! I'm pretty sure the govt. is not listening, however. :(

Folks, it's rather simple. People who do short trips and city will notice 0w20 benefits the most as engine is warming up all the time. Benefits will be negligible when long trip hwy driving.

At 63K miles I switched from Toyota 0W-20 to Mobil 1 0W-30 in hopes of reducing the chance of oil burning. As of today with 80k miles I have no oil burning. I took my car to Hybridpit in Buena Park for my oil change. Today, I decided to start using 0W-40 Mobil 1 oil. The reasons for the switch is that 40 weight oil is approved in other parts of the world by Tpyota and also that this is the only true full synthetic oil from Mobil 1. The concern that thicker oil will reduce MPG is a non-issue. 58.4 MPG on my way home. 15 mile trip.
