I take it you're not over in the Sandhills or maybe 30 miles from Bridgeport or something. :D

Stale gas in your tank could create problems. Gasoline has a shelf life and this issue worries me about the Prius Prime. Do you use a fuel stabilizer to keep the fuel from going bad?

I put pure gas and fuel stabilizer in on February 26th, which is when I last filled up. I am currently at 404 miles to empty on that tank of gas.

Going by the owners manual, Toyota says fill 1/2 tank every 12 months. We will see how that goes.

Just got my Prime yesterday and I used gas to get out of the garage this morning. :)

I'll never be even close to you guys in non-gas usage, my commute is further than the Prime's EV range, so I'll use gas every day. But that's okay, I'll still get better than anyone else's gas mileage around here!

Don't forget to count your electric usage in your energy costs.

I have spend $22 (1 tank of gas) and $84 ($14 per month in electricity) for a total of $106 for over 6 months since December 3rd. I have driven 5800 miles since new. Cheap operational costs!

The last time I filled up was in Goodland, Kansas on May 31st. Since then I drove home to the Denver, Colorado metro area, have driven all around the city averaging about 40 miles a day, took a nearly 300 mile round trip over two days to Pueblo, Colorado, and I still have about a quarter of a tank left.

I work in outdoor power tools at Lowe's and we see a common problem with gasoline power tools having trouble with stale gasoline and 10% ethanol gasoline causing issues. We sell a product called Star Tron
"Diesel fuel and gasoline are not formulated to be stored for more than 90 days. After this period of time, they begin to oxidize, forming sludge, varnish, gum and other harmful deposits. The ability of the fuel to burn properly is diminished as chemical components start to break down."

Most outdoor power tools should be using ethanol-free gas anyway. Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

I believe 90 days is for the common E10. I think pure gas is good for 6 months.

my toro lawn mower say 30 days gas storage. maybe it's the size of the ports? i would think toyota has a good handle on this.
6 months in my pip and no problem, but 6 months in small power equipment, and it won't start.
