We traded a 2012 Plug in Prius Advanced two weeks ago for a 2017 Prius Prime Advanced, better acceleration and handling. Wife's drive to work is also 15 miles. At home we have a dedicated 20 amp, 120 Volt circuit for charging (Prius/Cord only uses 16 amps) first night charge took about 4.5 hours dealer did not charge car before delivery. Started the first drive to work with 24.3 in EV mode used about 10. plugged in at work 2.5 hours and drove home still had 15 miles left in the battery. Nightly charges are still going up this morning started with 34.2 . Been experimenting with EV and EV eco modes. Depending on your drive you should do fine. Her drive is back roads 35 to 40 mph and plugging in at home and at work she is using EV eco so as to use some gas, if not she would not use any gas which is not good for the car. This is her third Prius a 2nd gen 2004, a 2012 plugin and now the 2017 Prime, she also drove a Highlander Hybrid lots of practice with Hybrids.

3.6 kW is the rate I'm able charge at, above the stated 3.3 maximum.

    3.6kW at 240V is 15A. I saw a maximum of 3.67kW on 240V, which is 15.3A.

I'll update y'all when I get the final decision. I did submit a proposal and had 2 electricians over to give me advice and an estimate. Fingers crossed.

It looks like ~$0.10/kWh which should make it economically viable.

    GOOD LUCK!

The L2 charger cost me net $100; Anaheim, California gives $1000 cash rebate if you install one!! TOTALLY worth it for me, since I need to charge multiple times most days to visit clients and/or run errands. Check your state and city for incentives!!

I bought, but have yet to install a L2 charger. For me the reason to buy the charger is about having it outside all the time. Right now I run the supplied one on an extension cord and would rather not do that. Buying a L1 wall charger didn't make any sense since my eventual intention is to get a second EV so the L2 was the best option. That said, don't forget to look at total cost per kWh. In Mass right now it is about $0.20/kWh, This is after you account for all the delivery costs. I currently pay $0.083/kWh until I use up all that my solar panels will produce so it was a no brainer for me to move to a plugin vehicle. I am still riding on a $200 credit sitting in my electric bill so my hope is to break even at the end of the year.

I think you will need the severed foot of a furry animal for luck as well.
