The red traffic lights only bug me when they wait till I'm almost there to change and I have to slam on the brakes. I really hate that. I'm pretty sure that the lights around here have a "Jerry sensor."

My experience is similar. The long winter took its toll-- bring on the sun, I say.

I am looking forward to the great satisfaction that comes from being "over 50".

Wow thanks really convince me of getting a good buy, I usually trade my car every 2 yrs or something because I always do a lot of mileage and SFtoyota has been nice to m,e always calling me after 2 yrs that they will pay off the remaining balance of my car as long as I buy a new car from them. Last 2015 prius I have that they paid off had 67,000 miles on it and that car never see a dealership or any shop after the stock free maintenance is over, I just change the oil filter and oil every 10k but my car always looks new and zero dent everytime so they know they can still sell it fast. Funny when I traded my car they paid off the remaining loan 13,800 in total and I am still on the dealership getting ready to drive off the lot with the new 4 Touring 2 weeks ago they sold my 2015 Prius 2 with 67k miles or so for 17k wow.
I still miss that car always got a lot of compliment how sexy it is haha. And my friends keeps telling me that my 2015 car is better than this 4th gen that I have huhuhu

How has fuel compared with the 2 cars?

70-100 more miles difference per tank, I usually put gas every 2days only 2015, this one every 3 sometimes 4days but it is just 2 weeks + old so may be that is why it is good on mpg

The fourth gens are producing markedly better fuel economy numbers, especially in warmer climates. 10~20 percent better?

I have a similar driving situation, but less demanding. Running the I-10 between LA and Phoenix weekly, with 15-50 miles daily during the week between the remote habitat and the workplace. I have racked up 36,000 miles in about a year. Lots of headwinds along that route. I have had many commutes with trip averages on the display in the mid 30 mpg range. Doesn't help that I rack bikes on the back 100% of the time.

Quite impressive! You will most likely be the first to 100k.

Many pri out there travel over 55k per year. There is a 2013 for sale in Ohio with 260,000 miles currently. Puts the average at just under 65,000 per year on the carfax.

    Figured I'd check in again.

Just under 14 months of ownership, and I clicked over 62,000 miles today...at least I think it was today...it all kinda runs together.

No issues at the 60,000 mile service 10-ish days ago. Brakes are showing hardly any wear, suspension still seems good, and the car is still running the same as it always has. No new noises or anything odd. Leaving on Saturday for a 5-6 day trip up to Washington and Oregon, which should tack on another 1800-2000 miles, depending on side trips.

So far, this is the most reliable and efficient car I've ever had, out of 5 VW's, 4 Toyotas, a few Dodges, a couple of Subarus, a couple Jeeps, a Hyundai, and a Kia (the latter two were Korean-market cars I drove while stationed there).

A little over a year for me 22K. My mileage via Prius says 62 MPG. I never reset it. I stopped checking mileage 10 years ago with the first Prius. Now I drive it like I stole it. I do nothing except oil changes filters. I hope to get around 75K out of the tires. The gen 2 did that.

.....aaaand since I just had the 65,000 mile service this morning, and picked up the Toyota accessory roof rack, I figured it's time for pics. Plus, Photobucket seems to want money for hosting pics to be used on other websites, so it's time to kill off that account and switch to imgur.

Side note: As I left the house this morning to head to the dealership for service, my tire pressure warning light was on. Turns out I picked up a nail and had to get the tire replaced at the dealership this morning. I'm really glad that I got the tires at the dealership...free 75,000 mile warranty on the tires. The dealership simply replaces the tire anytime there's a problem with the tire, including damage from road hazards...this is the second nail I've picked up since getting the new tires 20,000 miles ago, and the second free tire I've received under warranty. Definitely worth getting tires at the dealership!

^ Some people blur out the license plates when posting. I'm not completely sure why, and I've actually posted a pic of ours recently, where plate number is just readable. But yeah, might be good policy?

I've seen people do that, and yes...I altered it. But honestly... the car is on the streets all day every day. Anyone can take a picture of it. I've never worried about it.

Great looking roof rack. What did it cost? Yes, there are advantages to using the dealer. Lastly, never got hung up about my license plate being visible in pics. In fact I've got it on my profile pic.

Thanks. It was around $280 at the dealer. Pricing out a Thule or Yakima, both came out to be more expensive, and the Toyota part has a higher weight rating than the Thule, same weight rating as the Yakima. I just did a test fit of the Yakima bike racks...they fit perfectly.
