Well at least you still drive your age :)

Only 30 or 40 ev miles per gallon? I'd be trading it for a used Hummer.

June 28, 2017 let EV run out. Some travel at 35 MPH some at 40 MPH some at 45 MPH. the last 3 miles of EV left over before it ran out was at 50 MPH. 31.9 Miles. On my way back from Kroger gas station (about 30 miles) I got 75.6 MPG, the only reason I went to this particular gas station was because the gas was $1.97 a gallon and there was a Charge Point at a Meijer's 12 miles away from the gas station. It would have been nice to go to this gas station using only EV but the two Charge Point terminals were broken, one had no evidence of power the other one seemed to be ok, took my Charge Point card, initiated a charge, then shut off, I peered into the display and saw the message error, low line voltage. Reported it to Charge Point. Went into Meijer's to see if they could remedy the situation, no luck there, they told me to get a hold of Charge Point.:notworthy::cry::(

I'm at 34.2 but there is no way I get that when the a/c is on. It sucks up the electric. What is the best setting to use when you use the a/c. Thanks. If I didn't have it on I could achieve that mileage.

I don't think there is any setting with A/C on that will let you get the maximum EV range.

    Same observation here, Mr. Cat.
But apply the Crippled Snail Prime Principle, and you can get a decent amount of range back. It just gets tougher and tougher as the weather heats up. Dude, I'm down to 31, since I 80mph (just following traffic, honest ) drove to my daughter's 94° house in Riverside, 38 miles away. That was no Optimum Prime (Har, har!) drive!!

I guess the only "setting" re AC is the actual temp you set and if you are using ECO ...the lower the temp, the more EV miles you'll lose.
But you knew that already :cool:

Not sure this equates to what you think it equates to. It is an interesting number but doesn't really equate to gas per gallon equivalent. Probably more meaningful would be the price per mile equivalent so $329.06/7126.7 or $0.046 per mile. You could, if you had total Gas only miles, get an equivalent for the price per mile of gas only and EV only to see if your cost of EV charging is worth it. With some people estimating $10 per month, $15 may be costing you higher than the gas is costing you. A car getting only 50 MPG would need gas to cost $2.30 to get the same value as you get, a car getting 36 MPG needs gas to cost $1.67 per gallon. That said if gas cost $1.67 for you your numbers also would be better, so it is a downward spiral for most of them. Right now you are getting the equivalent value to a car getting 50 MPG - You paid $2.35 per gallon average, so a car getting a straight 50 MPG at that price would have paid the same for fuel over that period as you.

Just as an FYI - to get the equivalent value of $2.35 per gallon of gas out of your EV, you need to do about 327 miles of pure EV per month while paying a flat $15. If gas dips your miles need to go up to keep having EV charging make strict economical sense. This assumes approximately 50MPG ICE performance, which is a little low for the car but a reasonable estimate. At the vehicle rated average of 54 MPG you need about 350 miles of pure EV to use up your $15 at fuel cost of $2.35.

Thanks for doing the math @Captmiddy, I'll keep that in mind so 350 miles? Per month? hmmmmm, we'll see if I can achieve this:eek:, now that gas is below $2.00 per gallon I'm going to have to try a little bit harder:notworthy:

I don't have a screen capture but when I first got my car in February I got 23 EV miles and now I'm getting 36 on a full charge in June. That's me running with no air-conditioning windows rolled down. And 5 miles and that is speed limit. I do that when I drive to work no need to be in a hurry. But I do know if I drive 65 Plus of course it knocks down the amount t of EV miles I get. I wish I had a level 2 charger at home.
