My 2017 Prius windshield had a battle with a large rock and lost over the weekend. It began with a nice spider web in the lower middle area and produced several large cracks from there which only continue to grow across the glass when in the hot desert sunshine to the point the largest one now obscures my driving view. Getting it replaced any time soon is apparently a no go. The glass shops state because of the newness of the vehicle, there are no aftermarket options available, and must get the windshield from Toyota, okay, fine, I get that. The problem with this, however, is Toyota is stating the windshields are backordered...until October. What the? I'm so frustrated, it isn't like I have a second vehicle, and my insurance only will cover approximately 25 days for a rental. Gah. I know there's probably no advice to offer, I mostly needed to vent a bit ;)

I'd press the dealer to give me a loaner vehicle to use until the windshield comes in.

My husband tried speaking with Toyota Corporate and they said they cannot help because the vehicle wasn't brought in to the dealership for this issue so they cannot provide any assistance. Uhm, I was just at the dealership on Monday for basic maintenance service, and they were made aware of the broken windshield, said they don't fix them there, and had no other advice given. Sounds like this is going to be a huge headache.
