I looked on Denison's site but they don't "show" the Prius install.
Is this posted with pics somewhere?

The new DICE unit. You can go to http://priuschat.com/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=3457 and use those instructions. It's for the VIAS, but it's the same procedure.

I didn't disconnect the battery. Just be sure to have the ignition off and radio power off. I even turned off the SKS button under the steering wheel, just to be sure, too.

I just installed it today. I didn't disconnect the battery. I simply had power off and the radio was off before I powered down.

    Got mine in!

Took about 35 mins......15 of it was figuring out I was trying to put the wrong plug into the back of the Stereo! doh!

I did NOT disconnect the Battery either!

I zip-tied the cables then shoved the whole dice unit into the cavity beside the stereo.....fished the Ipod plug through the bottom black panel just above the passenger floor leaving enough cable ipod cable for several different possible ipod locations.

Pretty happy with the functionality so far.

bshef, do you have the new DICE ipod unit or the old ice>link: plus ipod unit?

In the title you said ice, now you said DICE. If you have the old ice>link unit, you might want to install it where it is easy to reset it (http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=13569&st=60#), since the old unit locks up once in a while. If you have the new DICE unit, then never mind.

I just bought it through the latest group buy that just started on June 16th! So........I think the "unit" said "Dice" on it!.....

The new DICE system includes an AUX Audio Input (for those of you without a 2006+), and has 3 different modes:

What exactly can I do with the Aux Audio Input?.....I have an '05 Prius!

I think you have the new DICE unit then.

I believe the new DICE unit has additional AUX input. That way you can play audio from non-ipod mp3 players.

Right, or you can use it for a portable satellite radio.

When I get mine I plan to leave it in the lower glove box. I've got the cable routed in there now.

I receive my DICE unit. I attempted to install it on Saturday.

Before I put the dash back together, I thought it wise to test it. When I powered up the car with the DICE unit plugged (the iPod was not yet plugged it). The MFD acted strange.

The outside temp was not displayed and the battery state of charge was blank (no bars). I initially thought I must have accidently disconnected something, but that was not the case.

When I have the unit unplugged (either from the back of the radio or disconnect the interface cable from the DISC black box, all returns to normal.

It looks like I have a defective unit. :( Do I get it replace by going directly to DICE or via Danny?

I think you started the car in ACC. mode. In ACC. mode, you press Power once without pressing brake, you will see the exact same thing you described. Not caused by DICE and it's normal.

You probably disconnected the wire assembly on the left which routes the player and the display infromation into the Prius. I know from experience......

When the DICE is disconnect, everything works as expected. I also had the car in "ready" mode.

I have installed the DICE unit following the VAIS instructions (with some help from the DICE ones as well) and am confused as to how it is supposed to register success. I have a 3g iPod (so maybe this is the problem) but so far my iPod is not being charged and I can't access any songs on it through the menu of the prius--any recommendations?
