Even in Washington, transit taxes are based on where you register it, not where you buy it. Thanks to the ST3 levy passage last November, this is now getting to be very significant.

If you buy in Oregon, you pay no 'sales tax' at all. But when you register it in Washington, you will pay a 'use tax', which by some very miraculous coincidence :) :) exactly matches the sales tax at your location.

Sales and use taxes are legally different. But from a consumer standpoint, the only practical difference is the spelling.

Guess the difference is that sales tax rate depends on the dealer location while use tax rate depends on the owner's address.

Bought from a dealer in the NY state, and just came back from a nice road trip.
Finished registration in WA, and the whole taxes and fees added up to $3.9k+ o_O

As of last week, I'm driving one from Michael's Toyota in Bellevue. We waited about four months. They brought it up from Oregon, but I think any Oregon dealer had priority. So, I'm very happy with it.

Ordered mine through Toyota of Kirkland. Delivery was ~7wks from order. Happy owner so far. =)

So far I've only spotted one other Prime (besides mine) on the Eastside.

I have yet to notice any in the wild on the Westside. But my spouse spotted one at the gym a few months ago, talked to the driver (who purchased in Oregon in December), liked it, and gave me permission.

But others stars are not yet in alignment, so I haven't ordered.

A salesman in Bellevue told me that he got an Advanced landed today and the customer backed out. It is Blue Magnetism / Black interior.
I've already got one, so anybody interested? ;)

    Where is the drooling emoji?

I'd checked it out, if not so busy the next few weeks.

I bought my Prime Premium through Foothills Toyota in Burlington, just north of Mount Vernon. Ordered it March 6th, got it May 25th. I noticed on their website that they now have one in stock that apparently is not specifically ordered for a customer. I don't need a second one but sure like mine. I am retired so don't drive a lot but have 1264 miles on it and the car computer says 103.4 mpg. Later this month it will go on its first real road trip.
