Well I'll make sure to lock it when it's in my garage!

No it really is beautiful. If it stops raining out here, I'll snap some pictures. I test drove so many damned cars, Camry, Accord, Sonata, Civic, Civic hybrid.... this is the best. And it's heads and shoulders better then the Civic Hybrid. Rides high on the road and has much more space.

So how long does it take before I stop talking about the car all the damned time? Went to a 4th of July party, and everyone was crowded around it taking it for spins. Too funny.

I gave some of my son's friends (around 19-21) a lift in the Prius the other day. They were impressed by the technology (as most people are) with the energy flow graphics on screen. The comment was made "Why does this feel like I'm in the the future or something? It's so.... (hums X-files theme)"

The answer I gave was "Because this is the future"

Danny, are you listening? People are considering dropping out! Please don't drop out. Let's stop the fooling and talk about the car. I thought joining in the banter will help to be left alone. It's like being picked on in school. Let's all stop the side show. This is about the Prius, not about adolescence, which I have fortunately long past!

Yikes. I sure hope not. If burning gasoline is the best we can do... we're screwed!

Yes, it probably needs to go. However, some people do need to look into a sense of humor transplant. I got flamed when I tried to point out how stupid it was--flamed by the ones who never did figure it out, which really does tell me it needs to go. Those who DO get it and kvetch and threaten to take their marbles and go home if they don't get their way, well, hmmm...isn't there perhaps a better way of working on this...like, let us reason together? Hell, if you'd prefer to hold your breath until you turn blue, go ahead. In the meantime, Danny does seem to be ignoring this issue, despite the number of us who have asked him, as a moderator, to take a look. Danny has not, apparently, done so yet. Therefore, in the meantime, the tag is still there, there are folks who will use it. Lately, the uses have been to send up how stupid it is/has become. If you don't like it, just don't read those posts...that's a pretty simple solution, isn't it? If it is too difficult for you, maybe you WOULD be happier not on PC. Please do not threaten that you will run away if you don't get your way. That is simply not productive.

The thing that bugs me about this is that these posts seem to have gone from the very occasional annoyance to being a noticeable percentage of what's "new" on the board at any moment.

I'm in the camp that says this capability should be shut down. I don't see the "humor" when it goes on every week - what's humorous about that?

Yup, I pretty much agree. And the poll I posted to make that very point was what started the current firestorm. Moderator Danny is not paying attention. As to not seeing the humor, well, THIS thread was also, I believe started to highlight the ridiculousness of the tag, and some of the posts ARE very funny. It really is VERY easy to just not read posts that have your name in the title, isn't it?

And maybe, if some people, instead of getting hot under the collar about it and slamming the posters, could PM Danny and ask that he take a look at these threads that so many are asking him to, maybe he'll deal with it.

Or people can choose to flame and bitch instead of trying a (very) little humor to try to get it dealt with.

No threat intended. I simply meant that, IMO, this board has gotten uncomfortably close to being not worth the time and effort... the signal-to-noise ratio is rather poor these days, in other words. Granted, this isn't caused solely by the constant (ab)use of the [ you ] tag, or even the nagging of self-appointed profile nannies, but certainly neither helps matters at all.

In any event, I haven't yet given up on PriusChat. If I do decide to leave in the future, however, it will be because this forum is no longer a productive use of my time... not due to some childish tantrum, as you apparently believe.
