Eric Idle's Spamalot has been playing it's trial run in Chicago, and will soon be moving to Broadway. (That's Broadway in NYC, not Broadway in Manhattan, Kansas.)

Anyone had a chance to see it in Chicago? I'd love to hear some word-of-mouth about it. I'm seriously thinking of flying out to NY and catching a performance.

For those of you who haven't heard: Eric Idle wrote a musical adaptation of Monty Python and the Holy Grail that was so good, the rest of the Pythons gave their thumbs-up to. (Any Python can veto a Python-related event or merchandising thingie, apparently.)

None of the original Pythons are in it (they're old, for pity's sake); but you've got the likes of Tim Curry as King Arthur, David Hyde Pierce as Sir Robin, and Hank Azaria as Sir Lancelot (perfect casting).

It's been running pre-Broadway in Chicago, and opens on Broadway on Feb. 14th. (What says "I love you" more than a killer rabbit?) For details, visit their web site (which seems to require IE -- damn their eyes!)

Saw it on Broadway about 2 months ago. Very good. It is heading to Las Vegas as well.

OMG, I want to see that!!! ROFLOL! Monty Python rules all. I have a killer rabbit from the movie, complete with fangs and a cage that's covered in all sorts of warnings and hazards if you get too close. LOL.

    Nee!

I doubt I'll make to NYC to see it, but the website says it'll be coming to Vegas soon. I think I try for it there. Looks like a hoot.

We are the people who say "Nit!"

I live on the opposite side of the country to be able to catch the NYC one, so I would need to find some cheap plane tickets if I want to see it in Vagas. I wish it would come to my state!

Starbug, I have a totally different impression of you now!! Monty Python is just too much fun! It is best to go with a few friends and wear a diaper!

Saw it in May on Broadway when I was visiting my daughter. very funny! I have been a Monty Python fan for years.

I will do one critique....they overdid the Gay jokes....Monty Python was no obsessed with gays as this show seemed to imply.

Anyway...that was it...but I didn't get the "every show has to have a jew" reference. My daughter had to explain (she is in theatre). OK, was in theatre...now she is going to Law School...OK, I guess that still is theatre.
