Yes, after load testing I would replace both of those with good modules because one is toast and the other will be the next one to go for sure.

Well after replacing the second bad module and doing the 3 charge and discharges it looks like things may be working again. I finished Friday, took if for a drive around town on Saturday and everything seemed fine aside from the scary sounding clicks that come from the battery pack but I figure that noise is coming from some relays or something. We've probably put about 100 miles on it so far and it seems to be working great. I'm still looking for a cheap laptop for the techstream so I can see some live numbers. Hopefully I don't have to mess with this thing again for a few thousand miles but I will report back in a few months to let everybody know how it's going. Thanks for everybody's help.

Which one ended up being the 2nd bad module? Module 16 on your chart?

Next time it'll be easier to identify the bad modules after the modules sit for 7 days. The higher self discharge and the load from a load test will show most bad modules. If you really want to see how the modules perform under high current demand, you can hit them with a 60A battery load tester.

Yes, #16 on my chart was the other bad module. I am noticing that my gas mileage doesn't seem to be where it should. It's averaging around 35mpg. I had the 12v battery during this whole process so everything got reset. Just wondering if that's something that will straighten out after driving for awhile or should I be concerned?

Maybe you should let it go 1 full tank. Many times during testing phases, you use a lot more fuel idling and doing other things. So best to calculate from your fill up on the next tank.

Not surprised on the bad module, wait a few tanks before drawing any conclusions on MPG.

Just an update. The gas mileage definitely improved after driving it for a week or so. It seemed like it was getting back to normal. After driving about two and a half weeks the car was involved in a wreck so I can't say much about it after that.

Isn't Torgue Pro the app that works with Bluetooth adapters? Is this app really able to monitor the Hybrid batter status at this level? Asking because I have been actively searching for the Mini VCI cable and TIS for my newly acquired 2010 HiHy.

@TMR-JWAP has done a lot of monitoring & charting of battery performance with Android apps. I think Torque Pro is one he uses.

You got me there edthefox5 :)

what I meant to say was "researching" because this seems to be not an easy plug and play item. There are lots of reports of people buying these but never being able to get them to work... -- which is why I am being cautious on pulling the trigger. I actually ordered one of Amazon but canceled after I found out that I should look for at least 2.0.4 firmware on the cable. The one I had ordered was 1.4.x

If @TMR-JWAP or someone here can confirm that the Torque Pro app with a decent OBD2 Bluetooth sensor works well and can provide module level details of the Hybrid Battery - I would rather get that than getting a Mini VCI cable and run through hoops trying to get the TIS software working on my Windows 10 (64 bit) laptop.

Can someone please throw light on this subject?

Can this setup (Torque Pro app + Elm327 Bluetooth sensor/reader) also with replacing TPMS when the time comes?

Or is there any specific / different from generic Elm327 that is required for Toyota vehicles?

TorquePro is good for live data, recording data, as well as reading and clearing codes.

TorquePro will not help with TPMS. (Nor programming keys, nor unclearable error codes, nor brake bleeding, etc)
    You need techstream for that.

Get an old XP machine if you want to make things easy for yourself when installing Techstream.

Has Toyota not updated Techstream to work with a supported operating system?

Good to know this ericbecky. I am, at least at the present time, not much interested in monitoring live data. All I want to do at this time is to be able to take a snapshot of all details of the current status of my HV battery. And then do the same after I have done the battery reconditioning using Hybrid Automotive's products in order to compare and see what actual improvements in the parameters is seen.

All 3 vehicles in our stable are Toyota /Lexus and recently my son's 1999 ES300 had 2 successive incidents of check engine light (CEL) - and I found myself regretting the lack of any code reader.

I would rather have 1 tool to take care of all our vehicles. But rather reluctant to buy a used Laptop just for this purpose. Am thinking of first trying to install XP Virtual machine VM on my windows 10 Laptop. If that doesn't then will go for a used Laptop.

The main issue is that you are likely buying a pirated version of the Techstream software. So there may be some glitches. They can be worked around if you want to sit down for a few hours and figure out/learn something new. For some people that is a fun challenge. For others they simply want the path of least resistance.

Torque Pro plus elm 327 device plus Android phone/tablet will take you less than 15 minutes to set up.
