    Good to hear Ema is back up and running:).

    I see also that you are a RX owner from a different forum;). We just got a RX450H and I was over on Club Lexus in the RX section and saw Ema referenced.

    Chris, when you drive as much as you do, seems like it's a big risk in getting the refurbished battery that can leave you stranded far away from home.

    As far as the capacity question, you have to understand your battery has nearly 500k miles on it, like an engine, it would be well worn. No amount of reconditioning will make that battery strong again. Even your engine got worn and replaced.

    What you did is essentially like changing out a bad spark plug, leaving 3 old ones with nearly 500k miles in the car. Those original spark plugs cannot last much longer

    I will certainly post when I hit 500K and let everyone know. I am a Field Service Engineer who works on plastic auxiliary equipment and cover the Southeast USA but have customers throughout the country. I have driven as far as Arkansas, Wisconsin and Missouri on jobs although I usually fly if its going to be more than 8-10 hours.

    Ema threw her codes on the west side of Atlanta almost to Alabama and I drove her from there to Charlotte with codes. Was it hard on the battery YES MOST DEFINITELY ... can it be done ... um yeah, LOL. It probably shouldn't have been done but if you know what your car is doing and have the ability to monitor your systems it can be. I kind of considered it another field test and wanted to get her home myself. We've been through 11 years and almost 500K together.

    Capacity - yes battery capacity could drop on any module for any number of reasons but currently the capacity on ALL modules is good. A module could go bad on a car with 150,000 miles as well. The highway miles I drive are inherently easier on the battery and like I mentioned before I really only want to get to 500K. And the Prime will be here by months end as a backup.

    Spark Plug analog - I COMPLETELY disagree with this statement. This doesn't fit at all. What I did would be more like taking the air filter out realizing its pretty much shot but cleaning it along with all the hoses to get the best airflow I can. Does it need a new air filter, yeah but that is A LOT different than a bad spark plug.

    Emas engine has burned oil for the past 200,000+ miles, going but what you are saying it should have exploded on her a long time ago. I appreciate the insight and all the input but respectfully disagree on some.

    It's good to know that the ICE will keep going for seemingly forever despite the oil burning issue , provided you stay on top of oil levels. These things are amazing little cars for sure.

    When your prime gets here, make sure you drive the gen2 at least once a week, if not, the modules will self discharge and you'll have a failed module again

    Congrats. Great accomplishment. Great thread. I have had two bimmers eclipse 380k miles. I have one now that is at about 320k miles, but I cheated and replaced the auto trans with a 5 speed and built a big inch stroker for it about 12k miles ago. Currently the odometer gear is broken, so I don't know how many miles I have put on it since the 312k mark. That's why I say "about 320k. I need to put a new odometer gear in the cluster. The speedo works, but no odometer movement in the last two years.

    My only complaint, and this is personal only, not a reflection on you........ I don't name my cars. They are not female (especially the 69 Z/28... nothing female about that bastard). Not sure why eveyone names cars a female name, other than girls and cars both tend to break our hearts.

    LOVED EMA! I have 242,000 on my 2005 Prius and hoping it will go another 100,000. Looks like that is totally possible. I have had such a reliable car.!!!
