Just got my upgraded Scangauge back (amazing turnaround, looks like they just replaced the electronics inside since I got a brighter backlight for my troubles, mine was an ancient 3.0 unit).

Have been trying to input the x-gauge codes to monitor State of Charge and whatnot and......hmm....they don't work. It says 4th gen Prius 2016 right there on the Scangauge site. AHA / newbie moment - the Prius c is not a standard Prius so the generation does not apply. Started entering the gen 3 codes and yes, those are working. Am I right here, or is there a separate list of codes just for the c (since I see from another thread that it's a different hybrid drive)?

  2. The Prius III codes do seem to work on the Prius c as well (this was not explicitly stated in the spreadsheet posted by managerman https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...ZTUR1eVE&hl=en ) I'm still waiting to hear back on the ScanGauge engineers as to what the codes need to be to quantify the green arc for total hybrid power output to the wheels. Anyone else figure that out yet, or if there are any separate codes specific to the Prius c?

So far, I've tried the following G3 gauges

State of Charge - SoC - OK
Traction Battery Temperature - BtT - OK
DC/DC Lower Converter Temp - DLC - I don't really believe this as the rise and fall of the reading is nearly instantaneous
DC/DC Upper Converter Temp - DUC - Same here
Inverter Coolant Temp - ICF - Does not work
    MG1 Torque - M1T - I guess it works, don't know enough about what's going on
    MG2 Torque - M2T - Same here
    A/C Power Usage - ACw - OK
Room Temperature - RmF - OK
Outside Temperature - ExF - OK, but 1 degree less than what's displayed on the MFD.
Battery Charge Max and Min - bcw & bdw - I get a reading but I don't know what they mean, max and min compared to what time frame.

Haven't tried any of the generic XGauges yet.

Ah, thanks for that! Lots of codes to try out.

  5. Also battery current, estimated fuel level (which varies a lot due to splashing in the tank, naturally), BT[1-3], brake regen readings, brake friction readings, etc. work

That's because the temperature reading displayed inside the Prius c is one degree too high. It did this when I was using Ultragauge as well.

Max and min is the absolute possible, at any time, I suspect.

how did you get traction battery temp? I went through mine and didn't see the BtT.

It's an X-Gauge, so you need to enter the codes and it seems a 2016 Prius c mostly follows the Generation III Prius

From the Scangauge site under the Generation III Prius, the second gauge listed is

    Traction Battery Temperature
    TXD - 07E22187
    RXF - 056106870000
    RXD - 3008
    MTH - 00090005FFC6
    Name - BtT

The spreadsheet in Post #2 has many more codes for battery temperature that I haven't been able to try yet.

There are three temp sensors on the battery, at least on reg gen 3, and maybe c is the same. The middle one is reputed to be the hottest, so is the best to monitor.

After a quick lunchtime check, of those 4 battery temperature sensors in the spreadsheet, yes BT2 appears to be the warmest, while the 4th sensor (which is supposed to be the air inlet) is very close to the BtT value I quoted earlier. So I'll be monitoring the spreadsheet's BT2 for now.
