Thanks for your experience, kithmo. I've not bought an odb2 reader yet so had no personal empirical knowledge.

Can you close the windows with your remote?

Yes, here in Australia, did it twice yesterday (and opened them too).

Apparently in USA you can't, but I think can open them.

But TOYOTA, for some odd reason, doesn't activate that setting, and you have to get your dealer to do so. My FORDs (and I know VWs and AUDIs do too and many others do doubt) had it activated as delivered, why TOYOTA doesn't, nobody knows.

Thanks again Alan. My Honda did and I miss it on Poppy, but my first service is due soon, so I'll ask them to set it up.

Yes on UK models, I don't think it's an option on US versions IIRC.

According to the 2016 manual, it can be customized by the dealer (column 3)

Not closing with the remote control, third function down in your chart says "open only"

You can close with the key though. Strange indeed.

Your mail service must be better than ours. It would either get lost or tied up in customs, placed in Indiana Jones' warehouse.

The Royal Mail was a wholly state funded operation including the Post Office over here and for years it enjoyed a rather protected position and was extremely efficient and economical to use. From the end part of the last century successive governments have eroded its protected status allowing courier companies to cherry pick and flourish as state funding was curtailed and workforce cut back to bare minimum. It seems most likely that Govt wishes to totally privatise the entire system, despite its protestations to the contrary.

Same here - they've sold off anything worth keeping, and kept the dregs which are costing them a fortune. Closed our motor industry too, ends later this year, crazy.
