At this time I have a Gen 3 Prius, Lexus LS, Infiniti G37, and a Jeep Wrangler.......they all have soul. ;) As to the Model 3 not being a luxury car, is like saying a Mercedes C class, or a Audi A3 is not a luxury car. Tesla is viewed as a luxury car and is priced as a luxury car. Most Model 3's are going to cost way over the $35K mark, and up closer to $50K

Toyota beat Tesla years ago? Not sure what that's suppose to mean, have you seen what is coming out from Lexus lately! Pure Soul!

Toyotas have been criticized as driving appliances for decades now. They are finally addressing that.
When I've seen the term soul used for cars before, driving dynamics was an important part of it.
Lexus are being compared to aliens. I don't aliens can have souls.

a completely subjective term which means nothing to 99.9% of the driving population, and everything to auto reviewers.

Fisker had soul on the outside. But Inside, it was rather plain. I guess you gotta cut corners somewhere. Unless your Lamborghini :)

so buy one, it will help with all the angst - felt over the fact that nearly ½ million people in line with thousand dollar deposits seem to disagree, & prefer a car with no "soul" & other condemnations.

Don't want any EV. Well I would consider a used Leaf. You can get a 3 year old Leaf for like $10k.

I'm looking for the 5 year old Leaf for $5k. Now that's a bargain. Unless it has no soul.

I would buy a Leaf. I have driven the Leaf and the BMW I3 as well as the Mercedes Electric. They are okay, still like having an ICE.

If you want ice, here you go. Plug in MB500e. With tax - around $85k, if you don't get too many extra options, or mind crappy epa ratings

Sounds like the wait list is up to 500k for the Model 3. I should probably get on it soon if I want one 2 years from now.

New versus used, everyone's particulars will vary. but you can knock ½ of that 2-year wait down to less than one, if buying used isn't an issue. The added benefit of used - lower price & a better grasp of ownership satisfaction.
