I am a newbie and have a couple of questions.
    1) Was looking to get a gps to stick on top of dash panel just to the left above the wheel. Since adapter that stick to the window will not hold there was looking for alternative ideas.
    2) Not sure whether I could get a decent gps for around 100£? And shall it be garmin or tomtom? I don't mind getting used one from ebay too. So any suggestions are welcome.
    3) Was looking to get a loop camcorder. In a sense 'set it and forget it'. Was looking at nextbase 720p in maplin. Not sure what extras would be nice to have since they have a variety of options. But I suppose would like just a basic one for safety around 50£. Also I am guessing this would require some cabling to be done to power on from 12v battery? What are the prices like for that kind of thing? And what is the possibility panel could be messed up and not well put together after the work is done? I am based in London.

Thank you for all the answers.

    Hi there,

you might consider looking at a bean bag type base to sit on the dash board without sliding around. Something similar to a "Garmin Portable Friction Mount". I still use a stand alone GPS similar to what you're considering, my only comments on which brand to select would be to ensure you will get map updates, and if it's important, find a unit that has traffic data included. My unit is an older model purchased when these things were options.

Thanks. I went for just for a rubber gps mat and it seems to hold alright on the dash without sliding
