gen2 Prius "Ready" but gasoline engine won't turn over

    So I dropped the engine and transmission and replaced the transmission with the used one i have laying around. Engine fired up first try. The original tranny was dried because the axle seal was leaking and emptied out eventually. This is something for future reference if anyone comes across this issue.

    Nope...seen it before please see post #12.

    You had me at golden flakes. Sometimes the diff blows up and the iner cv's go out of round and beat the crap out of the seal. Its alot of noise and smoke and stuff. Good times.
