Navigation Map Version

    I picked up my Prius Prime earlier this week and noticed that the map version is not up to date as it did not have many of the road changes here that have been there for a while. Does anyone know the current map version? I want to get back to the dealer asap before they charge me for a map update. I will look in the manual as to how to find the installed map version. Thanks

    there are no free map updates. the current release is always outdated. welcome to toyota navigation.(n)

    What I am looking for is the current/most recent map version. I don't plan to pay for it. I just picked the car up and I expect Toyota to provide the most recent version.

    Good question. My vehicle was built August 20, 2017 and has Map version 05-37-51 Dated 2017-04-01

    You never said what your map version is?

    Good luck with that. I seriously doubt the local dealer knows. If the search function was working on this site, which It isn't, you'd see the mega threads about this subject.

    I took a quick look and could not see a map version. I will check the manual later today. We had a major change to a roadway a couple of years ago and it is not appearing on the GPS. When I test drove the car the sales person ran inside and got a card for the navigation system. I suspect he got an old card. I want to followup asap as I just received the car earlier this week.

    agree with mark. if there's a new one, and they give it to you free, you've got a great dealer there.

    As suspected mine is ver 5-36-53 date- 2016-10-3 which is old. I will contact the dealer for a newer card. Anyone know what the newest version is?

    one of the mods said they issue a new version very fall. idk what date though. no info on the toyota owners site?

    It's true they issue one annually in the fall. I have a stack of the last 4 here on my desk. I suspect the card the dealer swapped for the OP was a card that was older than the one he had.

    No details on the Toyota Owner's Site or anywhere else. They don't release map version info anywhere.

    It's odd for something that they sell that they have so little information on it. Kind of shady if you ask me.

    I emailed my sales person. He just wrote me back and said the card will be in Oct 5. I will post the version once I get it.

    It's actually better than it was. Since 2014, each vehicle type that used a MicroSD card had a different part number and map versions (Camry, 4Runner, etc.) as of last year they combined all of those into one part number for all vehicles that used the MicroSD card. They always released one update per year, but I'm seeing evidence that may be twice a year. Mine is dated 2017-04-01 which is mid year.

    The Camry 2018 has Entune 3.0 which on certain trim levels updates the maps AS YOU DRIVE. So it is getting better.

    I don't see any non-2018 Camry vehicles getting Entune 3.0 without a full hardware swap. I'd bet big $$ on that statement.

    I just picked up the car a few days ago and the maps in there were old so they will replace them with the newest version which should have been done in the first place. I suspect if a few months had gone by I would be paying for them.

    I'm confused on the update schedule. It's been posted here and elsewhere that Toyota updates the maps once a year, in the fall (this month). But you have an April 2017-dated map? Of course, it is April Fools' Day ;)

    It's the real deal. I suspect they are slowly changing the contents of the SD cards to more frequent, but tht's a hunch with little cooberating info.

    I received an email from my sales person telling the card is not in yet. I am out of town most of this week so I will check in with him when I get back.
