Anybody know if there is an after market tailgate lifter for a 2012 Prius V. I have some medical issues that limit my ability to shut the back end and a automatic tailgate lift would be awesome. I don't want to get rid of my V with less than 25K on it and the great mileage for a new SUV with one getting less and a big price tag.

There's nothing specifically designed for the Prius, but...there are for other cars/truck and kits/components are available. Any good auto customizing place should be able to handle the installation. (And you don't necessarily need a lifter - you could use springs to lift and a closer instead.)

    Here are some suggestions:

What you use depends on your budget. I was once thinking of a low-budget way to do this with an electric winch, but it seemed more trouble than it was worth.
