I have a 2011 Prius lll with the stock JBL system and amp. I just purchased an amplified 100 watt 10" bazooka bass tube to install for a little extra bass. I have some questions that I could not find answers for. Any help would be appreciated because I would like to do this install today.

I do not mind splicing into the head unit or the amplifier wiring harnesses but could not find difinitive wiring diagrams for the 2011 with JBL.

Do I want to splice into the head unit or the amp?

Do I want to splice into the front or rear speakers or the high or low level inputs or outputs? (I listen to a little bit of everything but do like that hard hitting bass when I listen to rap).

Is there an affordable adapter that is readily available for purchase at a local store that I should be using?

    Thank you!

Ok, I've figured out that I need high level inputs but I am still not sure if I can tap into the JBL amp under the seat?

If you tap into the rear speakers that should be adequate. You also will probably need a 12 volt power supply. That depends upon what unit tube you own

    Thanks for the reply!

I have the BTA10100 amplified 10" tube. Will the 12v battery that is in the trunk be adequate? Also, where can I get the remote wire from?

    Thanks

The battery in the trunk will be adequate to power the unit. Make sure you put an inline fuse in. As far as the orange wire that needs to be powered by a circuit that is only active when the ignition is turned on. That may be somewhere in your fuse box

Also, can I tap into the rear speakers at the JBL amp or do I have to go to the rear of the head unit? If not, where is the best place to tap in and what color wires am I looking for? I am looking to use as little wire as possible. Thanks!

You can print out the manual online, but I would tap in as near to the rear speakers as possible..that will keep the wires short.

Tap into the FRONT door speakers AT the amplifier. This will give you the the strongest full bass signal to your subwoofer amplifier.

I have looked at many diagrams and they all seem to be different? Which wires are the front door speakers? I have tried with the DMM but cannot get a signal from any wires I touch on the amp. I have the JBL 86280-0w622 P5.

I am getting signal from the amp but the signal is weak.. I believe that I tapped into the correct wire? I also hooked the rca's to my IPhone and it sounded awesome! Is there any way to tap an rca in somewhere instead of the high level inputs? What is my best move here? I just don't want to keep splicing and cutting.
