Ok. Ok. THANK YOU FOLKS for recommending Tampa Hybrids. Just spoke to Todd and he explained a lot to me. So I’m goijh to get 2015 mods put in my case. He’s going to balance and service the pack and install it for a very very good price. I can’t thank you all enough. If you have been following this thread you know this car was purchased from a good friend of mine and she took very good care of the car and it has EVERY option available for the year. What package would that be? Can’t wait to get the car up and running. It’s a good looking car.

Register your vehcle VIN at the Toyota owners website to get the trim level and a record of any dealer service performed.

Rule of thumb: you can't let old packs sit unused. Prius "Barn finds" aren't the same as other cars.

Thanks for telling me about that. What a wealth of information. This just confirms she took it to the dealer for every service to date. All previous repairs were done at the dealership. This car runs like a top. After the fresh HV pack I should be good to do. I will have Tampa Hybrids do a service on it.

Perhaps the steering needs repair unless you spend all your time on roundabouts going in circles. :D

They did take her for a ride I think it was 37k before taxes. At the time the car had every available option. And it was in a very high end town “Naples” they charged something like 10k over sticker price. “Everyone” wanted a Prius back then. I know it’s hard to believe.... however it’s a true story. She’s a lifelong friend. And she paid cash for the car not financing.

I'm sure the folks at Tampa Hybrids have thought of this... but just in case.

It would seem that a ultra low mile vehicle like this, that has sat for a year might just need the HV battery charged. If it were me, I think I'd try it first. Maybe they have a way to load-test it following a full charge.

Yay!! Todd's fantastic. As I was reading through this, I was hoping you'd take the advice and talk to him. (I'm traveling and just found this thread.) That's the same year pack I got for my wife's '07 and it runs like a new car now.

That may be possible, but at that age, with what Todd can offer in near new entire packs, I'd just replace the whole thing even if it didn't have any failed cells yet.

On one level, it doesn't matter how much anyone says they paid for the vehicle.
    It's the OP's vehicle now.
Sounds like he paid a very reasonable purchase price, and the vehicle might need some further investment BUT in the end? Should have a good Prius.

I signed up with Toyota as the new owner. All work has been performed at the dealership. This car has been very well taken care of. I knew this when I agreed to buy the car. The fresh pack will breath new life into the he calls Car and I should have many more years of happy driving.

    OR...
You'll wake up every day to find a flock of Ravens sitting on your Prius. Strong unnatural winds will try to prevent you from reaching the car. You may imagine you hear Celtic, Druid or Byzantine chanting. And The Dash Lights will communicate with you like a possessed Ouja board.

    I'm hoping for YOUR scenario.
    Best of Luck.
    Enjoy.
