Possible source for MANY Die Cast 1/34 Scale Prii w/ front doors that open

They are from a US distributor, so the shipping would not be anywhere near as high, and they do not seem to be being marketed as the Toyota promos. The ones I bought in LA that I tracked down the distrib. through say 1/34 on the bottom, so I suspect the Toyota ones were EXTRA special. AND they are LHD, not RHD. I also have another one I did have shipped from Hong Kong (for about $22 total)--it is a 1/60 scale Tomy that came with a little red and white traffic sign (and they are neither putt-putt nor whirr-clunk,and only the back hatch opens). Godiva (I do believe) has a pic of the same one in her gallery. I found no domestic source for those.

I believe it was your thread, Dave, that led me on the quest, that led me to the market in LA, that led me to my ultimate god, GOOGLE! But, if I am remembering correctly, there were some discouraging difficulties about quantities available you were having that do not seem to be an issue here. SEEM TO BE being the operative term!

Step ONE has been achieved! Houston, we have lift off! I have been "approved" as a purchaser. I am now trying to determine the colors available and what mix they come in in the sets of one dozen--I apparently do NOT have the opportunity to pick and choose--the sets are "one dozen assorted." SO--I am waiting to hear how many colors and if each set consists of the same selection of colors or what. As of about 7:40pm, the total # of requests (keeping in mind there are some who have said let me know how much/what colors then I'll tell you how many) is roughly 31, with 4 black, 4 red, 10 white, 5 silver, 1 Tideland (troublemaker <_< ), 5 blue, and 2 "any," give or take. (This is not counting the OTHER trouble maker who asked about Silver Pine Mica AT ALL!) Remember--I will have to see what the color distribution in the packages is and the cost may get kicked up slightly if I have to overbuy to fulfill requests--ARE YOU WHITE CARS LISTENING HERE ????

I have NOT YET started checking on how much shipping materials will cost, but since I already do have one of the cars, I can get into that shortly (NO, not into the car--*I* am not THAT shortly) and see how much they'll cost to USPS Priority Mail or whatever. FedEx (even ground) would be too expensive--I know that I have to pay for a minimum of 1lb (which will probably take up to 2 cars), and to ship to a residence on the east coast is about $8-9, less in the middle of a city, less still if to a business and not a residence. It does change with distance, but I cannot make myself nuts by figuring it for each person's location (there are 15 so far)...whatever and all of that...just so you know I AM STILL WORKING ON IT. Rest assured, I will look for the best deals I can find.

...but the distributor is inconsiderate enough to be on the East Coast, as opposed to my Left Coast, so I won't get any more color info tonight! AND, I REALLY would like to go home and have supper, please, no matter how excited we ALL are.

AAAGGHHH---I'll never get out of here...YES, I now see the post 7.37 posts and they are not yet tallied--but RIGHT ON COOL CHICK PIRATE! B)

Well, you are probably a much better driver than I am--you've been practicing on all those other cars in your collection--so you'll get the putt-putt to my whirr-thunk...or, more to the point, whirr-HUSH, as my son pointed out would be more appropriate. Speaking of eBay--how are your 1:60 blue & silver Tomys different from the 1:60 black Tomy with the sign (other than color and sign, thanks...) I found the one with the sign I don't remember where now...maybe it was an eBay store in Hong Kong...?

My question of protocol, however, is--and I guess I will hope a mod has noticed this little blip of a topic--do I need to move to a sale forum instead of here...? Or, would there be a way to just put a notice there and direct anyone who might have slept through this but might otherwise be interested to here...?

Or maybe I should add a poll and take a vote...

Anyway, given the pic I have from the distributor only shows 4 colors--and I'm guessing one might call the one in the pic that is not red, black or white...seaside pearl? or just plain old blue? I will need to get a consensus on this one, so we all know what to call what gets ordered/delivered! Anyway, I do KNOW that silver also exists, because that was the other one I bought at the store in LA. Of course, this distributor might not have all the same ones that store's distributors had or ... whatever. At the very least, I'll wait to confirm the full array of what is possible--'cause I don't think I'd be able to get rid of six dozen XXXL brown ones even on eBay...

Oops, sorry Godiva--you're wrong this time...counting the folks who said they'd let me know once we get the how much and/or what colors (and a few apparently, surprisingly, shy PCers who PMed me), we are closer to FIVE dozen...in the not quite 6 hours since I first posted--I guess I did good to hit before Prime Time on the East Coast! However, since I still don't have the final price per dozen from the sellers, and it will go down some small amount with each extra dozen (I think), and a reorder might not be as easy (to come up with the $200 minimum), I gotta give it, say, at least 48 hours after a confirmation of the available colors to make sure people really mean it--fair, no? Also, I haven't had a chance to check with my regular shipping box suppliers, though I know they deliver fast, assuming they have baby Prius sized boxes... Yeah, I know, shaddup Susan...

I said I was signing off for the night hours ago, didn't I? Well, I don't ALWAYS lie--but I am having WAY too much fun here tonight...ya gotta figure I don't get out much, huh?

At the very least, I will be making no further decisions at least until the East Coast awakens...to be followed by ME awakening, then doing some actual salary earning work so I can justify (and pay for) playing some more!
