Wow, thousands of miles driven in Prime occupied territory and 10 months without seeing a Prime, and today, I see two in an area with virtually none and on the same major street to boot! A white one similar to mine was headed into downtown from the East early this morning and the other was near Choctaw, OK this afternoon. The latter was a Gray color with a lot of commercial lettering on the door, almost like a wrap. I could not read it quick enough. I was a little shocked when I saw the first one. They really do stand out. I sort of wanted to chase it down and wave like I'd just achieved a bucket list goal or something. :p

Congrats, Mark57. I am still waiting for that big event. Beginning to think it may never happen. It is a lonely life being the only Prime owner/driver in my corner of the world. A burden I will carry until the day one appears.

3 months have gone by. I have seen a co-worker's phone photo of another light grey Prime he captured at his apartment's parking lot in the same town where I live, so I've sort of had a 2nd hand sighting.

I figure I'm much more likely to see myself and my own car from the future driving past me if I somehow happen upon a time machine some months or years from now and go back to the present than I would seeing someone else's Prime.

Is that a close encounter of a 2nd kind?

I like the idea that I'm driving something that's almost unique in this area. I've not felt that before. It's cool to see people look at me and try to figure out what it is. Only one local 3rd GEN driver has noticed it might be a Prius and bent his neck passing by. When I saw the two Primes the other day, my first thought was NOT Prius. It seems to have helped the Prius rage as well. I'm not getting it in this car.

Finally saw my first one, a grey one, a few weeks ago. And then a turquoise one two days ago on the highway. They look pretty cool in person, I would say better than in prictures I have seen.

Was filling-up at a rest stop on 15 in Connecticut a week ago and saw a blue one pulling away. Pretty sharp.
It had a rather unique personalized plate but I can't recall what it said.

My girlfriend was following me in the Prime, does that count?

It is too bad Toyota or Entune did not make a way so if another Prime is near you... you would get a beep or something to alert you to said Prime...one you could turn off if you did not want to be alerted...might be a hassle in California.

Would that be a Prime stalker mode?

I’m not sure if I get to count this as my first sighting. I was walking Sheldon, my dog, when a spiffy blue Prime turned the corner in front of us. I followed it down the side street where it was pulling into a parking spot, and it was John. I’ve seen his Prime several times already, but this is the first time it wasn’t planned. :)

I also got to see his wife's gorgeous red Prime when she showed up too. It pays to live on a street with good restaurants - the cars come to you. Love the red!

The judges will have to take this one under review. I would have a tendency to say "NO".

Yes, but seeing one in the wild must be seeing one in the wild.

There are a few in my area. Saw a blue one today and my wife has seen another gray one a few times and that blue one, so they must live nearby. The real sighting was a Chevy Bolt at a local restaurant called Lucky 32. I talked to the driver as to how he got it and he told me his local Chevy dealer traded a Camaro with a dealer in California.

There are several dealers in my area (Cincinnati, OH) now stocking the Bolt. I haven't seen one on the road, however. I was thinking about stopping by a dealership and checking it out. Tesla's are quite common around here, as are Volt's, while Leaf's are less common.

I live in Sandy Eggo, Ca, and I have only seen ONE in the wild... entering the Costco parking lot as I was leaving, and even that was a couple of months ago. While I had my 2016 Prius sightings were very rare too. Not that I have my 2017 I have seen bunches of the 2016s! If it is that rate here, I am not surprised it is rare there. I also drive to Long Beach about 1ce/month. None to and from there either. :) Also note, I have been retired for about 3 years and only go out 2 or so time/week. Usually just shopping locally. That might cut down my Prime finding chances. :)

Choctaw Ridge in the song lyric was located in Mississippi. Good memory, wrong state, good song.
