Sad this is the first time I saw this thread...

Great work and a lousy way to have it taken away from you, but as said, your health is way more important!

Hah, you will recognize this Pruck as the work of a fellow Dutchman.
I was born in Haarlem, but left there many, many years ago (1951 to be exact). Still speak a little bit of Dutch but not much.

Well, you will recognize my last communications on the ill-fated Pruck were in February 2017, as I watched her being towed to the impound yard. Ultimately, to avoid big charges from that storage facility, I had her towed back to Todd Thompson's facility in Lutz and pretty much left her fate in his hands. It sat there for a while and he's a successful and busy man so I haven't bugged him. Meanwhile my wife and I have moved to the Leesburg Florida area.
    .
On Friday October 1 I received a call from Todd that he had the Pruck successfully restored to a driveable condition by a local body shop. That is utterly amazing !!. He could do that partly because he seems to have an inexhaustible supply of Gen II, and probably Gen III Prius body parts, but still the body work must have cost big $$.

He called me to offer me first dibs on the car,(truck) but in the meantime our lifestyle has changed and we can do handily with the one (20102 plug-in Prius) we have, so I declined with some regret. I'd love to own the bragging rights on that wonderful vehicle once again. It certainly was part of my most memorable experiences, which grew out of a basic bet with Todd ("yes, I believe I can do that!")..

Perhaps Todd has enough spare parts to do some of the things in your epilogue. Side air bags for instance.

The side airbags were there to start with. I had to remove them because the squibs were located where the roof was cut to remove the rear passenger compartment.

In your epilogue you wished you had put some in the Pruck though or did I misinterpret that?

I'm sorry to hear of the accident involving this vehicle, and glad that all persons came out of it ok. I've been in two "bigger" car accidents, and they definitely have an impact on your brain. (not necessarily a bad impact, but they change the way you see and think about things!!) Any idea whatever became of the car after it got put back together?

Nope. His inventory is really easy to check, by the way. Listings - Tampa Hybrids Inc.

Close. We used to live in Lutz before we moved to Honduras. Now we live in New Port Richey, about 18 miles away.

I saw that, too. Just too lazy to chase down the thread. :)

even when it was first posted here I did not see it in the inventory. I thought perhaps Todd was keeping it off there, hence my suggestion to contact him.

Todd got back to me yesterday, the pruck was sold to someone up in Carolina 4 months ago. He does have some nice Gen IIs on the lot.

Ray's post looks like a Subaru Brat was slapped on the back of a Prius, kinda wonky.

i think the best Prius conversion should hit the road this year. The @Bill the Engineer 's Firebrid - A 1967 Pontiac Firebird convertible with a Prius v chassis & drive-train. He is ready to weld the body on it this year.
