    Hey Danny!

    Congrats, I work closely with TJ and know the area quite well. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist while you are in town. You can really shock people and pull up at Grossingers in an H2 Hummer!! (only joking, of course. It would leave many of us internally conflicted).

    Since this open to the public is TJ advertising this in any way in the Chicago area. I have already directed someone from POL and have some people at work interested in attending. If this is advertised somehow I could spread the word better at work, afterall you can't beat City Hall (although, as recently proven, if your the US district attorney you can throw them in jail).

    TJ here...just wanted to relay a couple details of the event as I have them so far...

    Food and drinks will be provided. And yes, being that it is a hybrid event I could probably do some vegetarian food as well. Being that Chicago is known for hot dogs, expect those!!

    Time will be from Noon until about 3pm or 4pm.

    I am still working on securing cars for the event, so far I have a firm committment on the following cars:
    Ford Escape Hybrid
    Lexus RX400h
    Lexus GSh (waiting for response)
    Toyota Highlander Hybrid
    Toyota Camry Hybrid
    Toyota Prius
    Honda Civic Hybrid (waiting for response)
    Honda Accord Hybrid (waiting for response)

    If anyone would like to see anyother vehicles, please let me know. I can't promise anything, but I can try!

    Someone take a lot of pictures at this event...it should be really fantastic. And, TJ, I'd definately expect things to linger to or past the 4PM hour. Prius/hybrid people like to talk, and with so many hybrids to test drive...not to mention free food...folks are going to linger.

    I won't be there, but I'd suggest you folks organizing this consider making reservations somewhere nearby for dinner/beer and continuation of the GTG once the event at Grossinger is over.

    Here is a link with my current trip back home from Chicago.     Sounds good to me. I'm thinking of throwing some 8' 2x4s and a couple bags of mulch in my Prius, so people can see what kind of space is available. Somebody made that recommendation awhile ago (having Prii in different configurations) and it sounded like a good idea. I'm wondering if I should try to load my bike in, I haven't tried that, but it might ruin the effect?

    Are you out of your mind?!!! Haven't you considered what the extra weight will do to your mileage? :lol:

    Yeah, I'm bringing a tape measure and plan on having my hatch and doors open all/most of the time so anyone can walk up and measure everything, sit in it, lay in it, whatever. With the 8' 2x4s, you'll have the folding seats covered and that's great.

    I plan on arriving near 11:30 for set-up. Gonna get up early and polish Priapus' - uh, well, you know. . . :D

    well I got a new digital toy.... A digital SLR, bad thing is though, I'll be leaving EARLY from this(1pm ish) b/c someone decided to MOVE my Board of Directors meeting from last sunday to this Sunday. Fantastic.

    oh did I mention I'll be fresh off of the road, hope I have a chance to wash poor 'ole prometheus...
