No treble/bass tone controls on C-Two radio?

This isn't a huge thing, but apparently on my new C-Two the radio has no tone controls, nor the ability to shift the sound output from front-to-rear speakers, or right-to-left. (Even my 20-year old Mazda had these controls.)

This means I'm not fussing with radio controls while I'm driving--which is good--and I can get used to the the default setting of a fairly deep-bass sound, but I'm surprised. The Prius C owner's manual says nothing about such radio controls. Anyone's thoughts about this?

No no no, it has them, you just haven't found them :) You have to press the Setup button on the upper right, and all those controls are in there. I believe it's then the knob on the right that you use to scroll, and press to select.

Thanks, I'll check it out. It's strange that the owner's manual doesn't say a word---I guess they don't write the manual for tech-challenged babyboomers.

I think I did see it in there somewhere, but the manual doesn't seem to be laid out very well, and it's hard to find a lot. I've found having a pdf of the manual to be very useful because you can just search for words and find things a lot quicker. It won't let me upload it, but I think it's on Toyota's site somewhere... If you can't find it, PM me and I'll email it to you (if you want it).

Oh, good, I'm glad this was brought up. I was noticing that I needed to turn the bass down and wasn't sure yet how to do it. I also have the manual as a pdf so that has been great for searching, I agree!

Yup..setup>Sound Settings>bass/treble etc are there. Figured out recently ASL is auto sound leveling. It adjusts the volume as the car gets louder due to speed. I set that up first as it does affect the bass a bit.

I tried exactly what you said, and it doesn't work. I hit Setup, but there are no controls for audio treble or bass inside there! (I have a 2015 Prius 2)

I downloaded the 644-page manual, and there is not a single word mentioning "bass" or "treble" in the whole 644 pages.

I realize you wrote this in 2012. My Prius is a 2015. I tried following your instructions, but they do not work on my Prius.
When I click on Setup there is NO option for "Sound Settings". What should I do now?

Go to the Audio Source page and look under the word TUNE on the lower left of the Source page. Make sure it says Options. If it says Back, touch Back and you get the rest of the menu including Sound in the lower right. I agree on the poor location. It should be on the Audio Setting page also.
