    Hello!

New (used) owner here. Traded in my twin turbo gas guzzling F150 for a used 2013 Prius. I work from home so i couldn't justify paying for that behemoth anymore to watch it sit in the driveway. Any who, after doing some research I noticed there are I, II , III, IV, V versions of these things. I'm fairly certain mine is as base model as it gets... it didn't come with a back up camera or anything.. I'm just wondering if there is any way i can tell for sure which trim level I have.

So far i've taken the hubcabs off, gotten the windows tinted and installed an aftermarket backup camera that connects to the stock radio.

In all likelihood you are a level One (only 2010 labeled the trim levels II, III, IV and V). I believe the 2013 level One was also lacking a rear wiper but I'm not sure about that. Edmunds.com has a good thumbnail sketch of what was added to each trim level depending on the year. Good luck with your "new" Pri.

Welcome from a fellow 2013 owner! Here's the e-brochure for 2013 (the features for each trim level are on page 18): https://www.toyotacertified.com/assets/ebrochures/en/2013_prius_ebrochure.pdf

The brochure doesn't include the one trim level, since it was fleet-only. When we were looking to buy a Prius, the various websites (cars.com, US News, edmunds, etc.) had different info on what differed between a one and a two, so who knows... I remember reading that the one did not have heated side mirrors and the retractable tonneau cover in the hatch, but that's not definitive.

I have a two, which does not come with a backup camera, either (I had one installed).

Isn't the one as rare as hen's teeth? (n)

Go through the linked pdf, should sort it out.

What trim was it advertise under/with? I know some people thought they got a good deal buying a Prius IV at Prius II price because the dealer advertised it at IV but it was actually a II.

Thanks for all the posts guys, I've got cruise control, no heated side mirrors that i can tell... is there a switch for that? I've installed my own backup camera, feels like i've bumped her up into the next trim level already :)

Indeed, this was the case with the 2010, one that I looked at several years ago. No cruise...what the heck?.. Immediate deal breaker for me.

OP, If your Prius only has the keyless driver's door locking/unlocking feature then it's a model 2. If it has that capability on both doors and the hatch then it's a model 3. I am assuming that it has a cloth interior.
