Has anyone had a good/bad experience with low beam light bulbs on 2012 Prius?

For me is not that difficult to replace eit her one, but for $16 a pop they are low quality as Philips brand. I do not consider converting to LED yet, don't know that longevity at this time.

Consider getting Philips H9 bulbs and modifying them to fit into the H11 headlight mount. There is a link in my signature below.

Going from the 55w H11 to the 65w H9 bulbs will give you 50% more light down the road. Just be sure to mount them properly, not cocked to one side, or you risk melting the headlight housing, as you would with the standard H11 bulbs.

Mine has been fine so far. I dont' know why people say LEDs and HIDs are blah blah this and blah blah that. Original bulbs were designed to be yellowish so on coming traffic can see you. Some people don't angle it or readjust aftermarket LEDs to its regular cutoff point so it doesn't blind on coming drivers. It's a safety hazard, but style and looks are much more important. LAME.

The best option is to buy factory LED headlights. Expensive, but definitely worth every cent.

I bought fairly cheap HID in August. Installed within a hour, with my hands barely dirty.

I'm on the original halogen bulbs for my 2012. I tried HID for a couple months but the uneven dark and light spots were annoying. LED does not some as far as halogen so is not recommended at the moment. It's not about brightness but about spread. I'm happy with the halogen bulbs.

I installed a set of 35w 5000k hid bulbs/ ballasts and I’m not super impressed with them. The cut off seems good still but they don’t really throw light further down the road as I had hoped, just much more light right in front and to the sides of my car. I think I’ll stick to halogen, the upgraded light output of the hids isn’t worth it to me especially with potientielly bliding oncoming traffic. Might try a set of H9 conversion bulbs and call it a day.
