Is that for the evap canister purge valve? It releases gasoline vapors absorbed from the gas tank.

It's bringing in fuel vapor, as opposed to just venting it, pollution control I believe. The yellow highlighted hose?

    upload_2017-10-21_6-39-49.png

Going from memory, the other end of that hose is into the spigot on under side of (yellow highlighted) switching valve?

Thanx... Btw tomorrow morning weather permitting I will check the bottom of the throttle body for signs of oil ...if is there again it mean that the engine is sucking oil and mixing together with the carbon coming from the egr is making the car driving like crap (notice the photo of the plug).
Like I said before after the major cleaning I done last Sunday car was driving sweet for about 3 days (around 400 miles) it then started again feeling tired and making rattling noise under acceleration. I have improvised a OCC to test and see if after tomorrow cleaning I will get the same results,if the problem goes I will purchase a proper OCC.

04priusnow: How is your OCC mounted? I have a similar OCC & am having trouble finding an acceptable solution. By the drivers headlight is one option. Another is at the drivers side end of the plastic valve "cover". Both places have some room. Creating a somewhat solid mount is the problem for me.

@StarCaller mounted his at the passenger side wheel well. There is a threaded weld-nut there (the usual M6), and a close by, similar sized unthreaded hole. That would work if you could fashion a bracket with one bolt and a locator pin, just to prevent it rotating. If that bracket cantilevers back a bit you can just squeeze an OCC in. It is quite close to the engine though, might even get tapped when the engine shifts in it's rubber mounts.

I placed it in the space behind driver side headlight.. you can kinda see in the photo.. i just place a rag around it and set it in there.. not much room for it to move around and rag keeps it from vibrating on the metal IMG_20171020_171453.jpg IMG_20171020_171450.jpg

    Quick question guys ....
If I cap the intake manifold pcv hole and having the pcv valve venting in to the atmosphere will this have any effect to the engine running?
    Thanks

Yes, you'll get more condensation (water) in your oil. This will affect engine life.

When I first installed my OCC I neglected to close it's drain valve, though there was a pretty secure rubber cap on the end of the drain, but not really tight. I did a test drive around the block, and noticed an odd sound under light acceleration. Light bulb went on, I checked and closed the drain valve, sound went away.

it won't really vent, the positive pressure in the crankcase is too low; you really need vacuum from the intake to suck/
check it for yourself: put a clean, transparent hose on the pcv valve & just let it hang down.
drive a few weeks & check the hose: it will be still as clean as new..../

That's exactly what I'm gone do ... because at moment the engine runs like crap , tomorrow finally I will have some time to check if oil paddle is back inside the intake under throttle body (I'm sure it is that why car running crap) ,will clean all again for the 30st time ,cap the hole in the intake and leave the hose hanging and see if engine starts behaving badly after few days from full cleaning like previously has done.

Look for a cream coated oil filler cap. If you get this you have water in your oil. That leads to reduced oil life and bearing life.

PriusChat has had owners reporting oil puddles under the throttle body for as long as there have been Prii, and yet they don't all run like crap. What's making you sure it's the cause of poor running in your case?

I don't know ...I can only see the amount of oil is burning and Im 90% sure is the oil coming from the pcv...and im guessing it mess up the running of the engine...
Btw I have inspected again ...this is about 2.5k from last clean up ....

While there, have you also cleaned the MAP sensor? That can also get soaked in oil:(.

Yes I clean it again ..look at the oil where it goes inserted... IMG_20171105_124836.jpg
I then capped temporary using a red vine/beer bottle rubber cap the intake pcv hole....and extended the pcv hose to a quick home made OCC as I wanna see if like previous member said the valve only works when the intake is sucking air ! If no oil showing in the OCC it will mean the member is correct ....
I drove just around the block and no lights on dashboard...and again engine running sweet
I will find out if it about 500miles if this mod is helping with the engine slag!
