Prius C and TSS

    So.. I have my Prime, and im happy with it. My parents, the luddites who have usually made a point to extol the virtues of cars made well before my life began, were so impressed that they started shopping for a Prius themselves.

    They have discovered they prefer the fit, feel and drive of the C. I cant blame them. I love my prime, but it feels very long compared to the compact hatch's I used to drive.

    That said.. after a bit of online searching, it appears to me that all Prius C's are limited to TSS-C. So.. No dynamic Cruise, no LKA on the 15-16 or steering assist on the 17-18.

    Am I correct in that understanding? If so, why is Toyota limiting the C? Dynamic Cruise is life changing, and as far as I can tell, it uses the same sensors that are used for the Collision prevention that is already part of the TSS-C?

    I apologize if this has been asked before, but I didn't find it on a search.

    TSS-C is the lower cost option for TSS used in smaller and lower cost vehicles to keep the MSRP in check for that price sensitive market.

    TSS-C includes PCS (without pedestrian detection), LDW (alert only) and auto high beams. LKA isn't available with TSS (only on some Lexus Safety Sense+ models).

    TSS-C uses laser instead of radar that is used on TSS-P models (even if it looks the same to you).

    Other models that use TSS-C include the Yaris Hatchback, Yaris iA and Corolla iM. The Corolla sedan is the cheapest vehicle equipped with TSS-P.
