Ok, so it isn't tomorrow, but I see I have a bunch of posts to catch up on from the last 5 or so hours of naptime. No, I've not tallied what is what yet, but I CAN see that the orders are still open--but everyone needs to remember, even if I order another 4 dozen (on top of the NINE dozen we were just on top of five hours ago!)--that is only EIGHT more of each color, so please let us reason together!

PLEASE DO NOTE EVERYONE: I ***CANNOT/WILL NOT*** ship outside of the US. I am sorry--it is just too complicated with the use of my business's reseller's permit and my not actually running the sales through my business. I simply cannot justify the risks to El Herr Doktor Presidente and CEO Computer Programmer Geek-in-Chief--and I reckon, like Godiva's co-pilot, I, too, know on which side my belly is rubbed (eeyyewww--sorry--that did not come out like I meant it to, but y'all get the gist, I hope... )!

PRICE PER CAR: My quick glance over the past few hours' posts also tells me to redirect everyone to the discussion of the cost, HERE, way back in post 52 on this thread, and to thank those who are offering to add tips...please don't worry--I really am NOT losing money here--nor am I going to be taking any European vacations with the profits. I came to the conclusion, after checking into my actual costs, that this price does cover all of the materials as well as some of my time, but not so much that I'll be trading in Bruce for a Roller any time soon--honest :D ! The issue is there are so many shipments involved, that I will, inevitably, be losing at least some time at work to do the packing/shipping--fortunately, DH isn't likely to fire me, since, apart from anything else, no one else at the office can work QuickBooks... B)

I am a GOOD capitalist...cross my heart!

Ok--now onto the analysis of the posts and updating my spreadsheet...oh boy--onto page two! :)

I just saw this thread!!!

I would love a red one and a blue one, if possible.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of store did you get your original two from?

Oops, just also wanted to clarify the shipping charge issue, since so many now seem to be going the large multiples route...I will order the cars and shipping materials early next week. Once I have them all in hand, I will PM multiples buyers if I can't figure out where in the country you are (gee--maybe you could consider updating your profile... :p ) to get your ZIP code--after one pound, USPS charges different amounts for Priority Mail shipments, so while the cost per car will stay the same (yup, $10 each)--the shipping charges will depend on the total weight of the cars & packing materials, and will be just what the PO charges me.

AND--this is now going to be definite policy--I will only accept PayPal for payment--having people send me checks and stuff gets too complicated on this scale of venture (what scale--1/34??? ;) ). I know lots of us already do have accounts, but if you don't, do not panic--it is very easy, and, in fact, protects you as well as me. See Paypal account setup for more info.

Back to the tally...

EDIT: oops...in the PayPal info above, I should have said: [attachmentid=4141]

Oops, sorry--I think I read your posts as TWO definites and one maybe...have you down for 3 now--1 each white, red & champagne--or is champagne too close to silver for you? I have noted you'd prefer 2 whites--but until the run on them stops (or xlarimer agrees to trade one or 2 of his six white for something else) , I'm having to be conservative with them (god knows I sure ain't Conservative...). I sure can't explain the run on the whites either (oh...xlarimer...guess that does explain it)...or, for that matter, why, not counting the champagne, which we didn't know about right away, the REDS have moved so relatively slowly...I guess the Red Hot Prius Chicks just ain't got no pride... :p

Hey hy...or hi hey...or whatever...I will still hang on to these in your name for a while unless you let me know you don't want to hassle with getting me paid in USD (sorry--PayPal takes too big a cut if you pay CDN$ and converts) and having me ship it to somone on this side of the border...

Not yet, but hey--I hadn't seen the whirr-thump-putt-putt-stealth ones either until a week or so ago either. Maybe they'll be my next quest! ;)

Too bad I have to rig the requests, since I can only get an equal distribution of colors, but, for now, not counting "champagne/driftwood pearl" since we didn't know about that one until well into the discussion, silver and red have been the least requested--go figure! [IMG]

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Godiva @ Jul 13 2006, 03:38 PM) </div>
As noted, it'll be $10/car plus actual shipping, which I won't be able to tell you about until I have everything on hand to weigh.

And doncha just love serendipity and Google? :D

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Cheap! @ Jul 13 2006, 05:07 PM) </div>
Sorry, Cheap!, but I only ever said the MSRP was $5.99, and that was where I was beginning my calculations before I got more specific info from distributor, box manufacturers and so on. Please see above for true breakdown explanation. Short answer is--$10/car plus actual shipping costs. This covers my costs from distributor, packaging materials, stuff like computer/printer time/expenses for prepping shipments, and a very little bit on top to pay for some of my time. Please let me know if you're still interested, and if so, what specific color(s).

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Skwyre7 @ Jul 13 2006, 06:46 PM) </div>
Two blues may turn out to be ok--but would you mind if choice 2 is champagne/driftwood pearl for now, since their late entry into the calculations leaves me with a slight surplus for now. If it turns around (which it does look entirely possible), I'll put you back for a second blue if that's ok...?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(galaxee @ Jul 13 2006, 07:18 PM) </div>
I am not ignoring this post Galaxee--but see my response to your PM and then let me know about other(s) if we can't sort that out this go 'round. I'll "pencil you in" for one black in the meantime! We chicks gotta stick together! B)

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DougSlug @ Jul 13 2006, 07:03 PM) </div>
Sorry Doug--you will have to find another manufacturer for the green--I can't get 'em with this distributor.

Sorry mom, but I'm only selling toy cars here--not sons. OTOH, I do happen to have a slightly used 18 year old son I would gladly pay YOU to take off my hands! But you're on for the 2 blue cars. (Oh, did I mention that the available 18yo male has 2 blues himself? They are eyes, but still blue...)

I would love three.

2 - Silver
1 - Blue

This looks really cool.

Thanks,

Champagne is perfectly acceptable! So, of course, is red, but if the RHPC comes on strong, I'm still open. If I DO get white, champagne and red it will represent the car I bought and the car I ordered from a dealer that came in the day after I bought mine and the 'sold' red one that morphed into unsold the day after I bought Super White. But that's far too long and boring a story to base such a momentous decision on!

You're talking to ME about long and boring stories? Jeez--I thought I won THAT one hands down pages ago on this thread!

But you are definitely on for the red, white & champagne...unless there's a sudden run on the champagne/driftwood pearl and the whites fade into obscurity and I can get you a second one of them! :D

For those either as interested or as obsessive as I am, the current ranking (as of about 2am PDT) of color request stands as follows (in reverse order, just to be difficult, as we all know I can be):

6: champagne/driftwood pearl
5: Silver
4: Black
3: White
2: Red

and...drumroll please...

THE NUMBER ONE MOST REQUESTED COLOR:

BLUE

(Calculated without the benefit of my Excel spreadsheet, as I only have the oh-so-last-millenium paper version with me at home--forgot to email me myself the latest version...)

Nothing really to do with the topic, but I was just going through my printed list of "Wee Pree" buyers, to see how many are in California (something DH asked me to do, to deal with the use of our CA Seller's Permit to buy the cars), so I've been going into people's profiles (not being logical and just paging through the thread...), and I noticed that you have April of 1907 listed as your birthdate. Is this correct? If so, I have NO doubt that would indeed make you very officially the Grande Dame of PC. And if it isn't correct--hell, say it is--the thought of a 99 year old driving a Prius (not to mention knowing who Sheryl Crow is) is VERY kewl! B)

Two blues would be great. But if blues start running short, silver would be my next choice. I don't want to deprive another PCer of the chance to get a blue one. I'll take which ever color is easiest on you (or would that be hardest on you to get rid of?). I'm going to give the second one to my mother, so color really doesn't matter.

Purhaps my dear "webmates" will paint the white diecast Prius' to Silver Pine Mica (or whatever exact color they want) using bottles of touchups ;)

White is a good color for basecoat.

Hi Yo to you too, Rufaro. :)

I'm still interested, but the shipping and payment in foreign currency are issues. Any chance you could share your source (privately, of course) and I'll get a bunch through a local hobby shop that does this sort of thing all the time?

Have you any idea where to get a plastic scale model kit?
