Hey all, sorry been MIA. Last time I posted has been a few months and then been busy with a newborn. I'm having more time now. I'm from the south bay ( san jose). If the meet is closer to the bay then I would be interested. Thanks. FRED

San Jose to Lafayette isn’t too bad.

Would you just be in for the social aspects or some maintenance you’d like to do?

    Stop on by(y).

Just social aspect for now since I sold my 06 and picked up a 2016 Prius Two. I use to work on my 06 myself. Now my current car is under warranty so no need for me to do anything for 2 years.

It’ll be nice to have a Gen4 in attendance:).

Typically we have at least one: Gen2, Gen3 and PIP.

Hope Lafayette works for you (y).

I bought an oil catch can and (hopefully) all of the necessary installation paraphernalia. We don’t need to install it but we could if there’s time.

    Okay, it's a plan.

I agree. I'll use it as an opportunity to watch and learn before taking the plunge. :)

I'm at 80K. I think I heard somewhere/somewhen (it may have from you, actually) that 100K is the recommended change out. Is that the right number? I hope so, because plenty of time to get to it. For this round, I'll just do oil change and some air filters.

hi all, I plan to attend. Few month ago I bought a 2012 Prius V with 90k miles.
    So far I've done:
    1. transmission and brake fluid flush
    2. both air filters replacement
    3. picking up new battery today

I would be interested to hear your opinion on few things that slightly bother me and would like to do brake sliding pins lubing.
Also, would like to hear more about that oil catch can and why do people install it.

Since I'm new here, is there an entrance fee to attend the meetup or is there anything I should bring?

Knowledge sharing and helpful hands are free:).

The only thing I would suggest bringing is material for completing the work you want to do on your Prius ;). So if you want to do an oil change, just bring the oil and filter and we’ll take care of the rest;). For brake pin lube, I have the grease so I’ll bring it.

If you wanted to bring grilling supplies, I’m sure @Pedal Logic would put it on the grill :).

We can discuss the OCC on the 11th in Lafayette (y).

(y)I am in for an oil catch can install on that day, and to meet up and socialize a bit.

I have read somewhere I just need to remove air snorkel and lower air intake tube and I have enough space for connecting the hoses, don't know if that's true and correct. Let's give this a try on the 11th.

    1. @Raytheeagle : oil change (but can defer as needed)
    2. @grid Oil change, ATF change & tire rotation (last item doesn't have to happen)
    3. @RMB Oil catch can install. Manifold cleaning can wait, correct?

Most likely just social aspects. I'm still 2k away from my next oil change. By the way, I changed it every 8k. Is that too much? lol

Some say to change it every 5k. The important thing is to keep an eye on the level and top up as needed;).

Will have the address in a pm soon(y).
