Don't forget to get your owners manual out to remember how to change the time in your car for this weekend. Just did mine this morning. Now I can be confused for a few days.

i ignore the time change in retirement. i like having the extra light at the end of the day, and simple pencil in any appointments an hour early.

Sure, if you want big brother to track your every movement. The car doesn't have a tracker to tell it where it is to set up the time. I think we all like it better this way.

I believe there are 2 clocks in your car - Nav & dashboard.

It doesn't need a tracker. The car should be able to update the time the same way as the entune app update its info using our phone's data pack. Not sure why it doesn't do that though

The phone is the tracker in that case.

The system might need to sync better with the phone than Entune allows for it to work.

How do you change the system clock? Is it even worth changing?

I think the Nav clock updates from GPS. I would assume the system clock & dash clock are the same.

Disclaimer: I do not have a Prime and my Gen 4 has no navigation. I only have one clock, set from the MID display to the right of the speedometer.

What is the system clock? My gen 2 only had one clock that was user adjustable IIRC.

I think if you have the Advanced model it affects the Entune apps that are specific to the Advanced model. So if you don't it probably won't make a difference.

Without some sort of tracking, it doesn't know what time zone it is in. Or what jurisdiction, to figure out what the local time change rules are. Different countries change on different days. And some places, including a few U.S. states, don't change at all.

And Congress changes the U.S. rules occasionally, so without some sort of data connection, the car cannot know the current rules.

Sure, many cars have NAV. But it isn't universal, even within model lines.
And numerous car owners don't have phone data packs, or don't link their cars to such.

I use Google Timeline every day, which I find to be one of the most useful advances in recent times. It keeps track of everywhere I've been which allows me to remember things and places I've forgotten and to automatically geotag my SLR photographs. It also helps me to know the length of the trips I've taken in my Prime and to look back and analyze them. Love it.
