    Hi !
We bought a 2010 Prius with 56k miles. Everything was good for the first 500 miles that we drove it.
Then yesterday i noticed a coolant leak on the radiator side. We traced the hoses and found a crack in one of them. There was some coolant splatter inside the engine bay due to the leak. After fixing the leak we restarted and now i noticed a check engine light that was on.
After connecting a Innova 3120 Lat scanner it showed code P0C73 : Generic - Motor Electronics Coolant Pump "A" Control Performance.
As the Inverter Coolant appeared to be low we replenished that.

While the Innova Scanner was connected the ABS /VCS/TRAC lights came on.

So i took it to the dealer who connected Techstream.

In Techstream P0C73 did not show up at all.

Instead Techstream shows the following codes now:

    C1203 ECM Communication Circuit
C1336 Zero Point Calibration of Deceleration Sensor undone
C1345 Linear Solenoid Calibration of Stroke Sensor undone

The mechanic stated that he really did not know what these codes meant and it would take some try and error to figure out what was going on. He did say that they are ABS related but he would not know what to do about them specifically.

Does anybody have some helpful input into what could be going on and what to do about it?

Thanks a lot for any help!!

Somehow, the descriptions of those codes got garbled a bit. C1336 is pretty close, only the part is conventionally called the acceleration sensor, not the deceleration sensor (even though any pedantic physicist lurking around will jump in and say they're the same thing anyway, except for the sign).

C1345 is "Linear solenoid valve offset learning undone". It isn't about the stroke sensor at all; that would be a C1392, which you don't have. How somebody sort of glommed those two together into one description is a puzzle to me.

Those two are both easy: you just have to tell the brake computer to re-learn those two calibrations. If you have Techstream, you can basically just pick from a menu. If you don't, I believe you can trigger both calibrations to be learned using a jumper wire. That procedure, for the linear solenoid, is described here.

Without checking again in the repair manual (where all this stuff is explained), I can't for sure give you the procedure to re-learn the acceleration zero. I think it might actually be the same one, so if the computer needs to learn both things, it will. Be sure you are parked on level ground with the wheels straight ahead, because any slope will throw off the learned acceleration zero.

The C1203 is more of a puzzler. If it is persistent, it might indicate an actual wiring or connector problem (did liquid spray around under the hood, by chance), or trouble with the ECM or brake ECU, both of which are under the hood.

I'd start by re-learning the two calibrations, then try clearing the C1203 to see if it comes back. If it does, there's no magic bullet, just sign in at techinfo.toyota.com, look the code up in the repair manual and follow the steps there to pin down what's causing it, then fix.

Ok...my mistake..i got the two codes mixed up! Sorry!

The techstream print out initialy showed 5 codes:

    C1203, C1210,C1336, C1345 and C1392

C1336 does talk about the deceleration sensor in this print out. At least i got that right.

As the tech did not really know what to do about these codes , i asked him to try to clear them. He did and only C1203, C1336 and C1345 came back.

I saw the reset procedure performed in some videos on youtube.

In regards to C1203 "ECM Communication Circuit" i was wondering the same in regards to coolant spraying under the hood (which it did before the leak got fixed) When i mentioned that to the tech he dismissed it saying all contacts are sealed under the hood.

What worried me was that the guy is supposed to be the most experienced tech they have and clearly did not really know what to do here.

Where / how do i get Techstream to check on this further?

Thanks for your time and help!!
