That first 50 miles getting you out of chicago is through some of the deepest construction and traffic jam ups in the nation. It took us 3 hours to get through that 15 miles a couple weeks ago... Pick your departure time wisely...

Congrats on the new ride, take pictures and post trip results when you get home.

Yeah, I guess that's true. Flying in was the easy part.

our preferred method for avoiding that construction-traffic mess is to drive through town at around 4am. though not all are up to something that crazy

hope you're having a great time out there, Danny!

Just got off the phone with Danny. I'm sure a full report will follow from Tony soon enough.

Guess it's pretty hot...99 degrees, which limited turn out to about 20 folks. Everything went smoothly with Danny getting his Prius...how long do you think it'll be before he asks why he's not getting 60mpg?!

Cool thing that happened is that TMS USA took a red-eye and attended the event! I, for one, am thrilled that Toyota sees PC as a true cog in the wheel of the Prius and Hybrid technology and has finally started becoming an active participant in the site.

Can't wait to see the photos and hear the stories...and really am sad I couldn't attend.

My hat is off to TJ Prayner for hosting the Prius Hybrid event at Grossinger Toyota. Despite the heat (99 degrees) everything went off without a hitch. TJ went out of his way to make sure everyone got to see all the assembled hybrids. He cooked the burgers and hot dogs. saw that Ben and Jerry's had enough ice cream to please the crowd and did everything to please a very grateful audience.

It was great to see the faces behind the nicknames and to share in the festivities. I hope we can do this again. To Danny and his soon to be bride, the best of luck to you and thank you for PriusChat!

    Regards,

    Burt

Why was your new Prius in the middle of Hard Scrabble Rd. on Monday with its flashers on? It's a brand new vehicle! What could have possibly gone wrong?
