    Ideas on HID headlights,

Maybe I can help. Same situation with my headlights awhile back (2008 Touring model). One light would flicker on and off and turned out to be the bulb. There was an extended warranty for this issue according to a letter they sent me awhile back, but it expired. Dealer installed bulb and all was fine. Cost was $150 for bulb and $58 for labor. Coupon for $20 knocked this down in cost. Sadly the other bulb too went out two months later. Same cost at dealer.

A year, or so ago, my wife was stopped in our 2005 Prius by a City Police Officer for having one headlight out. That was a block from our home. When she got home she was furious because both headlights were on. It took a few minutes of Googling (is that a verb?) to find out that the problem could be with the lamps or the circuits feeding the lamps.

After being shocked at the Dealer cost for headlights and labor I sought another solution. I was lucky enough to have seen NAPA advertising HID bulbs at $75 each. I bought two and it took a couple of hours to put them in. From what I'd read replacing HID bulbs was going to be a headache. In reality, the job wasn't hard at all.

Ive been reading this thread and it looks like the right place to bring this up. I have a 08 Prius with 257,000 mi. I bought it with 188,000. The only record of maintaince I have is that the inverted pump was replaced. I am very concerned about my fluids, inverter, radiator, transmission. Also maybe transaxle from what I hear around Prius Chat. I got a quote of 129 for each of the coolant flush and fills and 149 for the transmission. I'm super tight on cash but want to make sure my Prius runs well for a long time. How many of these services are DYI, and how important is it to get it done. I really would like any and all opinins about this. Thank you

All fluid changes on the Prius are basic DIY services, for the exception of a brake fluid change. There are many write ups on Priuschat that will show you how these services are done. Fairly easy services to complete (but expensive if you go out and do it)

Can you and speak to the HID bulbs I pictured from Amazon? It says it’s compatible with my car I just want to make sure this is legit before I buy.

OK, I completed everything for the links provided and all went smooth where any complications; however, now that I’ve started the car up I’ve got all the hazard warning lights on. It was not stated in the provided links or instructions, was I supposed to put this into a maintenance mode? Or is there some form of resetting everything I can complete…

Correction. I got the other lights to reset after a good drive.

All that remains is the maintenance “check engine” icon

    How do I reset?
