Hayman, are you getting a 2017 or a 2018? How long ago did you order it and when do you expect it to arrive? Thx, Ben

I ordered a 2017. I placed the order on September 13th and they tell me it should arrive at port on December 21st and then it will take a few days to get to Rockwall.

The Entune smart phone app works fine for remote start of the climate control system on my 2017 Prime Advanced. As noted in another post, we used it to warm-up the car interior as we were leaving a theater and walking back to the parking garage a couple of blocks away. The car was plugged into a ChargePoint L2 charger and was nice and toasty-warm when we got there.

(Obviously, one does not remote-start an electric car like one would start a conventional internal combustion engine to allow the engine to warm up. In the Prime, the "heat pump" is started to warm up the cabin for the driver and passengers. Amazingly, the Toyota dealer from whom we bought the car was happy to offer the installation of a conventional remote starter for $700 whether we needed it or not.)

My experience with Google Play was less positive. I have an early Samsung Galaxy smartphone and Google Play insisted that it would not allow me to download and install the Entune app. Some research on the internet showed my phone listed as working with an earlier version of Entune and I was able to locate a copy of the APK binary file and install it manually. (It took two tries -- the first version I downloaded contained some malware which caused ads to appear on the phone every couple of minutes. I had to find an Android anti-virus program to remove it. The second copy of the APK, downloaded from a different source, was clean and works well for most, but not all, of the Entune functions.)

If you have a reasonably current smartphone, you should be able to install Entune from Google Play and, I think, you'll be pleased with much of the stuff you can do.

I love my Prime Advance. Blizzard Pearl White. I narrowed my choices down to white or red. White showed up first.

Me too! 24 hours and my wife is ready to commit me :) enjoy!

Being only 24 hours in.. How do you get that? I am so confused on the buttons... I think I want to be HVAuto that has an illuminated box around the indicator? And of course charged when possible.. All the time? My dealer gave me no training :(

I sympathize with you: my dealer knew almost nothing about the car.

There are dozens and dozens of helpful and somewhat helpful videos available online on YouTube. Just search for "Prius Prime How-to" and you will find many of them. Some are produced by automotive publications or bloggers, some by Prime owners, some by individual Toyota dealerships, and some are official Toyota how-to guides.

Here are some of the official Toyota guides. Most are between one and three minutes long:

    Introducing The 2017 Prius Prime

    Toyota How-To: 2017 Prius Prime – Charging

Toyota How-To: 2017 Prius Prime Apps – Overview & Registration

Toyota How-To: 2017 Prius Prime Apps – ECO Dashboard

Toyota How-To: 2017 Prius Prime Apps – Remote Climate Control

Toyota How-To: Prius Multi-Information Display (MID)

Toyota How-To: 2017 Prius Prime Apps – Charging Station Map

    Toyota How-To: Prius Head-Up Display

Toyota How-To: Prius Prime Charge Management – Multi-Information Display (MID)

Toyota How-To: 2017 Prius Prime Apps – Vehicle Finder

Toyota Prius Prime: Innovative Driving Modes

Toyota Prius Prime: Available Intelligent Drive Coach

You also should download the Prius Prime user manuals in PDF format from Toyota's official web site. The advantage of having the PDF is that you can use Adobe Acrobat Reader to search for a particular word or phrase -- much easier than trying to navigate the index of the printed manuals.

The nice thing about the Prime is that you can learn to operate all of its basic functions pretty easily and only have to delve into the amazing complexities if you want.

Trying to sell some senior friends on one.

"Perhaps it's time for something less stressful and more reliable or at least with a warranty. Just because your not spring chickens anymore doesn't you can't have a coupe.
Rent a Prius for a few days and take it on a trip to see how you like it. It would be base model seats and options of course. 2017 Toyota closeout deals happening now. Only one week left to get the tax credit on a plugin on this years taxes.
I haven't seen the Tesla hogging the farmers market EV charging station for awhile. Was free to use. Think 20 to 35 miles free miles for every charge (~2 hours)."

Duh! That would have been too easy.

But it was sad that the local Toyota dealer's sales dude knew next to nothing about the Prime. He did tell us about a place about two miles from the dealership where he like to get tacos for lunch -- but delivered the car with the battery at about 20% charge because the dealership did not have a L2 charger. A couple of days later, we checked Plugshare and discovered there is a free ChargePoint charger in the municipal parking lot across the street from the taco place.

Not just a Toyota problem. We also looked at the Chevy Bolt at the local Chevy dealer and took it out for a test drive. Found that the doors were too low to get in and out of the car comfortably... but the Chevy sales dude never even mentioned the Chevy Volt, and hence we never even looked at the Volt.

But, we'll always have Paris... or at least the Toyota videos.

Not sure. It might have been. The last one they had about 2 months previous was one from another dealer in western Kansas.
