    Hi Pruis Chatters,

Just wondering, is anyone selling their 17" Prius Five or Persona wheels?

    Thanks,

    James

I'd be interested in trading/selling the 17" wheels & tires from my Prius V/5 wagon in exchange for a 15" or 16" set. But shipping would be prohibatively expensive from MN to ME.

Hi. Just bought our 2013 Persona yesterday. I've already thought about getting different rims. Existing ones have only 2 with small 'curb rub' scratches and tires probably have 3-7K remaining.

Call my answer a 'maybe'. Won't take any action for at least after the new year. Contact me later. :)

Check Craigslist! I got lucky and was able to buy four Persona 17 wheels in great shape for $300. The tires have one more season left in them.

Hey All! I actually purchased a set of 17" wheels, put them on with Continental TrueContact tires, but lost so much mileage that I went back to my 15" wheels/tires. I'll be selling the 17" wheels.

What was your mileage loss? 17s vs 15s. Were the 17s Prius 17 wheels or aftermarket?
What are the tires on the 15s?

    Thanks.

I went down to the low to mid 30s after installing them! They were OEM 17" Prius wheels off a 2010. I put on a set of winter tires on steel wheels - GT Radial Champiro Ice Pro. The mileage is down right now with those as well, but also because it's -8 today in the Twin Cities.

Ouch, that's minus 22C. Only minus 2C here, and that's chilly for us, lol. Benefit: the garage is like a fridge, we can store the turkey left-overs safely. In your area, the garage could stand-in as a deep freeze, lol.

That's to be expected with snow tires. I am currently running Firestone snow tires on 15" steel rims in New England and am getting low to mid 40 MPGs highway driving.

FYI:. Most Prius owners from PC who switched over to 17" OEMs usually see a 2-3 MPG loss. I only had my 17"s on the car for 5 days before switching over to snow tires so don't know what my mileage loss is yet. Mine still have the original Bridgestones.

We kept our Christmas dinner in the Prius back for a day while parked in the garage. Serves as a giantic refrigerator during the winter months.:ROFLMAO:

Alternating between OEM 17" rims with Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 (what a mouthful...) and 15" Corolla steel rims with Michelin X-Ice, I see little or no variation. The Pilot's came with the car (yeah, they're getting on...) and have the "Green-X" label, so maybe a special run for Toyota? Here's our Fuelly history, fwiw:

Yeah, that's the thing. I would say with each switch-over there doesn't seem to be a big difference in mpg, one tank vs the next: 17" Pilots on OEM rims do about the same as 15" X-Ice.

Looking at the graph above, seems like some years I dodge the winter bullet better than others. Our winter temps can vary widely, dependent on "arctic outflow". Also, it could be a tank with a whole bunch of milk runs, drags the mpg down.

I might be interested in your 17's. And I'm right down in Orlando. I currently have stock 15's on my 2014 III.
