Probably in the future when people are driving cars that are completely covered in highly efficient solar panels, including windows with transparent solar panels, with the excess power stored in futuristic dense batteries, and bragging about how they haven't had to fill up with hydrogen in over 2,000 miles. They will look at a plug-in hybrid from 2017 as "quaint" ;)

You mean the 11.6 inch 2D non-virtual reality non-holographic touch screen that you actually have to touch, instead of it all being projected in front of you and controlled by your eye moments (on the Plus model, controlled by thoughts on Premium and Advanced). How quaint indeed.

It's a bi-directional touchstone connecting the past to the future, and the future to the past.

It is a necessity while we wait through the chicken vs egg conundrum of infrastructure build-out vs demand, with the hope that technology advancements will accelerate the aforementioned process.

It is the physical embodiment of my motto, adapt or die. I should probably alter my motto to adapter or die so I can switch to the other side.

Just don't go opening that door, whatever you do. Might as well just delete or cover up the button, in case you're tempted.

  9. They removed that and other buttons on the Prius Prime Minimalist. But when marketing cancelled that model, the staff was fuming.

I was looking for the LoL button. :) I drove mine from Sandy Eggo to the top of Pike's Peak and I promise I used that unknown port close to 10 times! (2,600 miles RT) I few more times than I would have HAD to, as I insisted on Costco stations. Only 1 foreign tank of gas on the trip due to Costco being closed at that hour. (I had one free charge in Lost Wages while I watched a baseball game, but I used that all up locally going to BB tournaments.)

The manual is so big, because it has three paragraphs of (legalese) cautions for every explanation! :)

I have found that if I don't carry it in my car my mileage improves a lot.
