^^^ spot on ^^^ and way overkill, so you won't have any issues whatsoever.

Absolutely. #10 wire and only a 10-foot should pose no problem.

I have a couple of 10-foot #12 cords which I have used to plug in at a motel or at a friend's home. Harbor Freight used to sell these but I don't see them listed on their web page anymore.

The advantage of having two short cords is that you only have to use as much length as you need. The disadvantage is that when using two cords end-to-end you have mid-point connectors point which can pose a hazard.

So I made my extension cords this weekend. Made 2 15ft corda. One will stay with me in my prime and the other will be used at home as more of an “install”.
Cables are both 10 gauge 600v cables with 20 amp connectors. The female end is a locking cable which I thought gave a nice touch for an accidental unplug.
Total cost was just over $100 to make the 2 cables. Probably a little expensive and overkill for this application but I’d rather go this route than have “just enough” to get by.

Thanks...my 25ft clippercreek charger should be arriving next week. That will be my home charger along with the extension cord I made so I have the length. The OEM charger and a 2nd extension cord will live in my prime and be used mostly to plug in at work. Won't need the extension cord there but keeping it in the prime just in case.
Have about a foot of snow in NY right now so driving won't be as fun the next few weeks but a big fan of the Prime thus far!

FWIW, I have no garage. I started out with a heavy duty extension cord from the outlet available on my mobile home. However, in short order I decided I didn't like the idea of having a cord strung across my yard, so, I hired an electrician to put an outdoor electrical plug on the corner of my driveway. Cost only $800, and now I have plenty of distance to reach the plug to the car, and no ugly cord all over my yard.

Definitely a good idea. And, if you decide to go to a Level-2 EVSE, it will be fairly simple to change the power supplied to your remote outlet to 220v, assuming your electrician used a large enough wire size to handle the additional current that most L2 EVSEs require.

(This could start a whole discussion, but typical 12/2+ground wire is used for 120 volt 20-amp outlets. You can just as easily run 240v 20-amp service over the same size wire even though most L2 ESVEs would like to have 30-amp or 40-amp service over larger 10/2 or 8/2 wire. You'd just need to change the circuit breaker to a 20-amp 2-pole 240v GFCI breaker and replace the outlet with a type of outlet which won't allow plugging in a 120v device by mistake. And, of course, you'd have to have an appropriate plug on your L2 EVSE. Even using a 20-amp circuit breaker, it's unlikely that you'll have any problem using any L2 EVSE unit with your Prius Prime because of the Prime's modest needs. However, you'd trip the 20-amp circuit breaker if you tried to plug in your Tesla. Just something to consider if you decide you want to acquire a Level-2 unit in the future for faster charging.)

This is the kind of info I wanted when I bought my first plugin, 2012. Very consistent, TY
