I have an 05 Prius. I received the triangle code. Change hybrid battery. I did the research and decided to change battery.

Did so but bought a battery off Craigslist. (Yes I was aware of the risk) to save money. Of course that battery ended up having a bad module so I replaced the module. Cleaned the corrosion off bus bar put everything back together and installed. I had the codes cleared at my local auto parts store.

The code ⚠️ came back .

    What did I do wrong?

    Thanks

Mark, unfortunately, the list could be pretty long. Did you have the 12v battery disconnected while swapping out the HV battery? If so, that alone should have cleared all codes.

So based on you having the codes cleared at your local parts store, you can at least drive it, right?
Were you able to have the current code read to see what it is? IS it actually P0A80 or something else?

Unfortunately I forgot to write the code before they cleared it. It said "hybrid battery weak". I had disconnected the battery before making repair and code came back so I decided to have the codes cleared by scan tool to be sure but triangle came back.

Do you have an OBD Bluetooth adapter and an android phone? If so, you can download several various apps that let you communicate with the car to check and reset codes yourself. A popular one is Torque.

P0A80 is code for "Replace Hybrid Battery"

For individual blocks, P3011 through P3024:
P3011 is Block 1 becomes weak
P3024 is Block 14 becomes weak.

It would help a lot if you were able to get the code again.

Thanks I will look into getting the scan app. I do recall seeing the l block sentence it said block 11 and 12 become weak. But I didn't get the corresponding codes.
